If it's not yourself, I would think it's your half brother. I mean, if you have no brothers, and this person's dad is your dad's son, the fact that you have no brothers means you dad couldn't have any other sons, meaning that you are his only son. Even if "you" is a girl, she doesn't have any brothers, so it wouldn't fit.

Very interested to see what the answer is... keep us posted.

The prof. said it's not; Himself, Uncle, Father or grandfather

I am thinking Barfly has it right...

Has to be his daughter. This persons father, is my fathers son. I have a daughter named jamie. Jamies father, is franks son (matt)... Daughter fits. Self portrait does not. This persons father (matts father) is my fathers son (matt). A does not equal B in this one. It is daughter. My daughters father, is my fathers son... My daughters father is me...

Will have the answer tomorrow

There is no answer as worded--however the wording is incorrect.It should read brothers and "sisters" I have none.
(which would rule out nieces and nephews)---and make the portrait being that of his son.;)

A man is looking at a painting;
He says:
"Brothers and sons I have none,
but this persons' father is my fathers son."

when i read that, then look at this troubled soul..

It's his daughter;)

Congrats Barfly.....

Answer: If the person is looking at a portrait of someone and their father is his father's son then it would be his(Will) daughter.

Look at it this way.... Will is looking at a portrait of Sissy. he says that Sissy's father is his own father's son. If Sissy's father is Wills father's son then we know it is one of Will's sons. But Will has no brothers so that would only leave one of Will's kids. But Will has no sons, so it is his DAUGHTER!!!
