Banks and Pols need corruption to survive because the whole system is a scam. And they get exposed all the time by the way.

Nfl doesnt need it. They will make billions without it and go bankrupt if they get caught. Pols will be out of A job if they are not corrupt. The incentives are completely different. Apples and oranges.

The NFL would never let the public know if they did have any evidence of games being fixed. Get it?

The NFL is half sport and half show and there is no getting around that. They need some drama

It's also funny that you think e wry one would take a few bucks to fix a game, but no one would sell their story for a million bucks if this giant conspiracy existed

The NFL makes no claim to be 100% legit in its sport so there is no wrong doing. Everyone such as yourself ( no offense) simply assumes that it is committed to being on the up and up.

What I am claiming is that it wouldnt take but a few timely holding calls to influence a game and no one would be able to cry foul because holding essentially goes on every play.

I am not talking about the Saints loss just the whole NFL in general.

Whenever there is alot of money to be won or lost there CERTAINLY will be a corrupt influence. If you dont understand that than there is no reason for me to tell you there is no Santa Clause. :0008

Im not innocent enough to think that "NEVER WILL" a game be Fixed, I just dont think is happening right now, People that think that they are fixed just havent lerned the range of probabilities that can and will happen, thats why there are "angles" that based in historical data can help you improve your capping, and those explain outcomes like the Baltimore/Jacks game a week ago or the first half of the Detroit/Denver last Sunday and so on..

you know.... from now on....more actions involved in every commercial, bettors have a chance to make your wager live-in game.....not like used to be...
which is more money coming...so you can't tell which side your are right...even you are good capper for the game...still can be a loser....

Come on Jordy, you're from the windy city, the home of the political fix.....you don't think there's a little point shaving going on every now and then in college or the NFL?

Tend to agree with original poster.....no way could an NFL game be fixed.....but an under-the-radar Sun Belt game being perhaps corruptible by a big $ sharp like Rick Matthews (not that he would) reaching into his considerable wallet and paying off a few refs for some timely holding and PI calls at just the right time to make sure a 24 point dog comes in no matter what???? Yes, I think that is quite plausible and possible, may have already happened on on ofe those hinky-dinky Tuesday Night ESPN games, for all I know

No way huh? Its already been established that it has happened in the past. Big money always attracts corruption. This fact cannot be ignored.:nono:

True that Emerson (love the screen name, may change mine to Fair Hooker) but that was WAY back in 1963 with Hornung and Alex Karras, 48 years ago........way before the NFL had morphed into the vast death star conglomerate it is now...dont think it has happened since unless you want to count Paul Crewe in the Longest Yard.......

Not many folks here recognize whom Emerson Boozer was my man. My contention leans more toward referee influence in games. Just look at the rules now days. Everything can be construed as a penalty so at any given time during a game a call can be made to greatly influence that games outcome. Its a tool that can be used by a gambler if he picks his spots.

According to some people I'm an idiot and the most stupid mother fucker on the planet .

Don't worry, you're not alone! :mj07: At first I thought it would be impossible to fix a football game since there are so many players on the field that would have to be involved. Then, when I watched that superbowl years ago between Pitt and Seattle, I am now convinced that games can be fixed, and how easy it is to actually fix a game. That game made me realize that all it really took were the refs! On a goal line play, Roethlisberger didn't seem to cross the goal line but the refs gave it to him anyway. I didn't think much about that until another play later in the game when Seattle scored on a pass play, but a very late flag was thrown for a phantom holding penalty, which robbed them of a TD that would have allowed them to cover. During the replay one of the announcers (I think it was Madden) disagreed with the call and said he didn't see any holding. Yes, I did have a bet on Seattle but on the flip side, there were times I won games that seemed like it could have been fixed as well. So do I think football games can be fixed? Absolutely! But it doesn't really matter as long as you're lucky enough to pick the right side!

I believe some games are tampered with like Emerson said.not like wrestling, but few calls and non calls here maybe even some players or coaches involved. And for the people who say the nfl players are getting paid millions they would never do that, are those the same players like Jamal Lewis who was caught with a trunk load of cocaine few yrs back?

Another good example of a big game that was heavily influenced by the refs. Seatle outplayed the Steelers that day but could not overcome the referee influence. I remember it well.:toast:
