Ok St -3.5 over Texas *****
Texas beats Baylor and everything is fine in Austin. The team all stayed on the field after the game and either sang or listened to " the eyes of Texas" Last week the entire team left the field except for Ehlinger the qb. he alone stood out there by himself.. mucho controversy about that.. Now you can check with doglover a member here and he has seen me kneel at the home basketball games when they sing " the eyes of Texas". I am a North Texas graduate and will only stand and salute our Mean Green song" Although I did pay for tuition for my daughter who is a UT graduate. anyway lets get to the game
OK st -3... Texas did beat baylor and actually rushed the ball and only had 5 penalties ..lets not forget they lead the nation in penalties and missed tackles .they did much better vs Baylor But lets not also forget Baylor is missing a lot of guys due to C-19 and couldn't even have enough to practice vs Texas. Ok state is 4-0 in conf beating Iowa St last week 24-21. Texas won last yr 36-30 but the past 5 years Cowboys have owned them 38-35,13-10,49-31,and 30-27.
Texas is one of the most highly potent offenses in the country...and are only 3-2 losing to TCU and OU in the B-12. Its there defense that is the problem They have 4 and 5 star recruits with quickness, size, strength but these guys have 1 star in tackling . and really have no linebackers.. on offense up until last week they couldn't run the ball but have an excellent qb in Ehrlinger who can run and pass. one of the most sought after rb's in the country Bijan Robinson had 12 carries vs baylor What is he doing on the bench.
Ok St has Gundy as a coach ..he has a "suffocating "defense that has to keep Ehr in the pocket. But the key to this game is Cowboys have 2 super stars. Hubba who has over 500 yds and could lead the nation in rushing and Wr Wallace one of the top wr's in the country. Both could of gone to the NFL but stayed for another year.
Ok St defense was young last yr but have almost everyone is back ..although Spencer there qb was hurt he is back and his backup played well Texas defense who cannot and will not put pressure on the qb and will not stop Hubba off right tackle,up the middle or left tackle...and Wallace who with the communications of the Texas db's will be singing " the eyes of Texas" " you got him, right" are in deep trouble . Herman is a dead man walking coach and this loss puts them out of the B-12 race for good.
Cowboys win by +10 points

Back later in the wek
La Laf -15.5 over Tx St **
North Texas -4.5 over UTEP ***
Ohio St -13.5 over Penn St **
Tulsa -17.5 over ECU **
Rutgers +11.5 over Indy ***

I just heard Hermans press conference on the radio I didn't realize 10 of the 11 cowboys defensive players are juniors and seniors and half of those were red shirt freshmen ..so they are all 22 and 23 yrs old with a lot of experience..think Gundy and his staff can figure out the Texas offense and although won't be able to stop them its the Cowboy offense that should out score the weak Texas defense. both teams face a similar problem .. Texas is facing the best defense they have seen and maybe the best all year and Ok St is facing the best offensive team to date despite Iowa St;s offense. think this could be a 41-27 type game ..Texas does know this is a " must" game because if they lose there out of the B-12 championship game and Herman and co. are gone .think he's gone anyway except Texas owes him a huge buyout there is no love lost between Gundy and Texas..So if he can run it up he will..there is no taking the foot off the accelerator on both sides

Hey Box, i think Herman will get another year due to the crazy year, not alot of preseason reps, all the coaching changes, etc. On paper this game looks like a blowout, but the line of 3 or 3- has me wondering. Initially, i thought Oklahoma St. would have been at least 7 point fav or more. I know Herman has been great as an under dog, but i guess someone knows more about this game. We shall see. Good luck with your play.

skulldog think Herman will only stay because of huge buyout in his contract. with the C-19 and coaches from other sports getting cuts in their budget its bad PR to give this guy millions when sports are being cut and coaches all over the program.. But many are tired of his actual coaching and teaching. His press conferences are unreal Excuse after excuse. He fired 7 coaches last year and bought in all new ones. its the same mistake after mistake ,penalties miss communications ,fundamentals ..etc the Austin radio and newspapers up until this year treated him with kid gloves.. but not this year.. even the way he dealt with the players in the Black lives matter situation. I think he try's to be their friends and buddies. It doesn't work.. Your the coach. you must have the players respect. He doesn't/ The incident with the song" eyes of texas" last week , The Ath Dir told all the coaches Volleyball, etc how we are going to deal with it. according to Herman he never knew this and didn't convey it to his team. Its such a bs controversy anyway. The song "eyes of texas: was used in the 1920's30's as a black face minstrel show .. so it considered to have racial over tones. I really don't care about that but if the black players feel that strong about it and don't want to sing it thats fine. So the plan among all the Texas sports was the players don't have to sing it Well I think the original plan like the volleyball team was to still say out there while its sung at the end of the game and then walk away to the lockeroom You don't have to sing it.. well last week the entire team walked off the field except the qb Ehlinger who stood by himself while they played the " eyes of Texas" I think all the coaches left too.. This song means a lot to all the ex Texas alumni .. I think herman was criticized big time by the way he handled it and denied knowing what the AD had told all the coaches.
So this week after they beat Baylor the entire team stayed on the field to hear " eyes of Texas:. not sure if any sang it. But its just another breakdown in Hermans coaching. I'm the coach,we will all stay on the field and listen to the song, then as a team we will run to the lockeroom ,does everybody understand this,if not see me before the game starts...because if you have a problem with that we can send you back to the dorm right now"

luv them dogs.. its not a game of the year play .. just a strong play ..kinda like BYU over Tx St last week
and big time cheers for Rutgers Schiano . He's back and talk about motivating coaches. Last yr they lost to Mich St 27-0.. and although I didn't play it Rutgers kicked the s..t out of Mich St.. I hope he can keep it up look out Indiana this week But Indy upsets Penn St and Rutgers upsets Mich St .. RU is at home I'll take the points ..

In Philly this week, then driving up to NY for 2 days and seeing my hometown in Orange County. Then back to Philly and then fly to Orlando to visit my other daughter and stay a week. I am babysitting my 9 month old grandson and then later the 4 yr old grandson who goes to pre-school ..my daughter teaches in the basement as I watch the boys. Before I start.. teaching from home via zoom is very, very difficult.. I sneak quietly down stairs and peek. My daughter has 22 kids in her class[zoom} and all are inner city kids. She has to establish discipline 1st and all 22 have to be 100% focused on her as the teacher and listen to the lesson. these are 1st graders. " Janiyaya please stop eating those frito lays,Khole no pop cycles ,Zykee back to your seat, stop playing with your computer, etc etc.. sorry have to stop now I'm watching the baby and he needs attention My daughter is picking up the other one in pre-school back later

sorry my daughter was stopping at Target and they were closing early and boarding up windows in anticipation of the Philly Riots..unreal we we live is safe but boarders on a bad neighborhood

Rutgers +12.5 over Indy ****
the key question in this matchup is " whose heads is bigger" since both coming off huge upset wins Indy beating Penn St on a 2 pt conversion and Scarlet nites beating Mich St 38-27... I think Indy did beat Rutgers last yr 35-0,and 24-17 and 41-0 the other past yrs. But Schiano is back for his 2nd term as head coach and look out. He was successful before he left..It too 6 games in the B-10 to score more touchdowns then he did last week. Thank god he benched Sitkowski a blue chip kid from the NJ high schools. Ash their coach that was fired because he started Sit for 2 yrs Ash was fired and is now the def coordinator at Texas..Ok St really likes that move. Rutgers qb is a transfer Verdral who had a nice game vs Mich St... but the best player on the field is 5'10 210 pound Pacheco the rb for Rutgers. If this kid played for Clemson or Alabama he is the Heisman winner. He is a powerful runner with speed and moves. He also can catch the ball in the backfield..opposing coaches know him but he didn't even make pre-season 1st,2nd or 3rd team Big 10. I know the B-10 is loaded with talent but Schaino will use him as a weapon. Rutgers defense is pretty solid with speed and are athletic .. no way can Indy wins this by the line .. Rutgers could even win straight up,

gotta run and babysit back later

NT-UTEP cancelled
Ga South -6.5 over So bama **
Werts is tough to stop

UTSA +6.5 over FAU ***
Harris is back at qb but still banged up.. Not sure if he can scramble and throw Both backups qbs are out so no depth there But Roadrunners have Sincere McCormick at rb and I actually thought nobody ever heard of him , When I saw him at the Tex St game I said this could be the best rb in the state of Texas ..then 2 weeks ago I am the UTSA -Army game in San Antonio and on the screen at the Alamodome is the quiz question It was ,sincere McCormick leads the nation in rushing, how many yds does he have A 350 b 450 etc What I didn't realize he led the nation in rushing and my little secret or scouting him and giving him big time props is already known every where,,anyway UTSA coach let him rush on 12 carries ..vs Army Give him the ball coach. On the opening play of the Army game he went up the middle for 28 yds and almost scored. You could see he was upset on the bench not getting the ball ..when your about 40 feet from the bench you see everything I think Sincere will get a lot more rushes vs FAU

La Laf -12 over Tex St ***

Cajuns just beat UAB 24-20 Tx St has played 5 or 6 on the road. At home on saturday but its defense will have problems stopping Levi who can pass, run and score.Mitchell is another top rb and they have a few wr's that can catch and run. McBride is starting and Tx St does have some decent rb's and wr's but will have to be playing catch up
Last couple of years La Laf won31-3,42,27,24-7 and 27-3 Think the same esp with Mitchell and Levi both 5'10 and 5'11

Tulsa -18.5 over ECU **

Boise -14 over AirForce ****
Bachmeir at qb could be the best qb in the Mt West . AF has no passing attack and are to 1 dimensional. Boise defense held Utah St to 13 pts..Past few years boise has dominated 30-19,48-38,44-19 But once Boise gets the lead it will be hard for AF to play catch up just running the ball esp since Boise has an excellent defense

BYU -28.5 over WKU ****
Again they just beat Texas St big With a solid OL and possible Heisman Wilson at qb who now has 2,000 yds passing ,16 tds and 1 interception and a big time rb in Allegeir this has blowout written all over it WKU defense is in big trouble . Plus the WKU offense is pretty bad.. and again BYU needs style points to impress the committee after they go 11-0 or 12-0 ..because their strength of schedule kills them.

Appa St -31.5 over UL Monroe ****
Appa just beat Ark St 45-17..Zac Thomas might be the best qb in the conf last yr beat UL 52-7 They were 13-1 last yr and will put a whooping on the Warhawks.. in last yrs game UL led 7-0 and then Appa scored the next 52 points..same as this year

still like Ok St -3.5 over Texas big then Boise and BYU and Appa St
good luck this week ...not sure if I will post any this week thanks longhorn for agreeing with me If Gundy can run it up he will..lets see how many players stay out there after the game if they lose..

Blaster ,being in Philly teaching is hard enough,my daughter is at Bache Martin in the Fairmont section right along side Eastern Penitentiary , In fact if you look out her window in school you see the prison wall The target they were boarding up right off the Ben Franklin parkway next to the brad new Whole Foods.not sure of the nanes of the streets. The Valero and CVS on Fairmont were also were boarded up. I don't have a problem with people peacefully marching but destroying and vandalizing the Wallmarts, Targets,CVS.s etc is unacceptable and those arrested should be dealt with .. the virtual education is tough.. its working in some places not in others... the places that were boarded up were spared I think the managers were anticipating
