How do you know if your computer has Anti-Virus protection on your computer? Where do you check and see if you have it?

I have put up the firewall and installed the critical updates 2 days ago when the worm hit. Do i need the Anti-Virus protection and if so how much does it cost and what is the best ones to use?

first off, you need a program on your pc, and most come with some kind of program initially.
I use Norton, and there is a yearly fee, cant remember how much, to renew..
go to your program listing, see of any are there
three i can think of, are Norton, McAfee and Dr. Solomon

here is a link you can do an online scan from
http://us.mcafee.com/root/offer/default.asp?id=4381&affid=304&cid=&lpname=offer_438.asp

and some links that might help

Or, you can use the McAffee VShield, it's free & people who use it swear by it. *S*
