Now what?

even more drama? A New York fan base that will hate him because he will be mediocre? Jets finish below .500 for the year? Favre realizing way too late this was a stupid move? Favre is one of my favorite players of all time, but this has been real chitty on his part I think. A total no-win situation for the Packers as well and especially for Aaron Rodgers.

New York will expect a Super Bowl from Favre who will fade fast.

Minny should trade for Chad Pennington

On the course!
I know one thing...........Jets fans will have no problem booing his ass!

AND, his crying act probably won't wash over there, either.

I still think there's a good chance he never suits up for a regular season game.

if somebody`s smart they`ll grab pennington quick......

i still say the guy`s a damn good qb.....if he goes to a team with a decent o`line,he`ll do very well...

some of the greatest qb`s didn`t have big arms.....

pennington`s a winner...i`ve always though so...

I think Favre just got a big dose of reality. He was hoping to either get a release from his contract or be traded to the Vikings and the Pack didn't blink.

In my opinion there were no winners in this saga, other than Aaron Rodgers. Granted the issue is behind them now, but the Packers had to play hardball with the heart and soul of their team over the past 15 years. From a public relations standpoint, they got a black eye from the locals and hardcore fans for not welcoming him back. Favre loses because he goes from a possible Super Bowl contender to a team he might lead to a Wild Card spot in the playoffs. He obviously thought he could back the Pack into a corner, but in reality, the opposite happened.

As someone posted earlier, I imagine that $25M "go away" money is looking pretty good this morning.

Reportedly the Packers put in a "Poison-pill" provision in the trade, stating that if the Jets traded Favre to the Vikings, they would have to give the Pack 3 1st round draft picks.

I never knew you could do that type of thing, but I heard it was in the deal.

IMHO - this is the worst move the Packers could have made. There is a tremendous amount of Anti- Ted Thompson sentiment around here. People are pissed. People aren't mad at Aaron Rodgers (how could you be - the guy has been class through this whole thing) - but people are steamed at TT - it is an ego thing for him, since he drafted Rogers.

The thing is, 50% of the time that Rodgers has gotten more than 5 snaps in a game, he has ended up leaving the game due to injury. Everyone here knows that he will be lucky to play 8 games this year, as he will get hurt. And, unfortunately, he is not very good - we've seen that already this year.

Brian Brohm (2nd round pick from Louisville) will likely be the starter by mid-season due to injury. And that won't be good.

The bad thing for us Packer fans is that with Favre we were a Super Bowl contender again this year.

Now, seriously, I can't see the Packers being better than 8-8. It is a MUCH tougher schedule for the Packers than last year. Yea, 8 wins will be about it.

Time to look at the futures board and see what is posted for # of wins for the Packers. It will undoubtedly be an "Under.

I'm not buying all the haters with the 'Rodgers is a glass jaw' song and dance, either.

That's all ANYONE is crying about up here. The guy had a couple bad breaks. Big deal. Put it behind him, and let's see what happens from here on out. If he get's hurt........yeah, everyone can start harping how they "told you so".

I doubt the Pack was going to do well no matter who ran the show this season. They have a killer schedule. Fans are going to bitch, so it just doesn't matter.

I'm not a Rodgers hater... but I am a TT hater.

Like Tiger Woods said when asked about Favre "why would the Packers ever let him go"?

TT made his bed, and now he can lie in it.

It was no coincidence that Rodgers was 7-20 in the scrimmage on Sunday playing against the 2nd team defense... :mj07:

This team is built to contend again this year, tough schedule or not. It's too bad TT threw it all away due to his ego and having to play his boy who he drafted #1.

It will be a LOONGGG year in Packerland - and unfortunately, Rodgers will bear the brunt of it.

It's awefully hard to boo a guy that sits in the luxury box (Ted Thompson), but that is the guy who should be sent out of town. :0corn

I guess I'm the only one that thinks the Jets will atleast double their win total from last year, and thats not just because of Favre. They improved both lines, and added a playmaking TE.....looking at their schedule its conceivable they win 8 or 9 games....

Now Farve can go show everyone how great he is.....He and Eric Mangenius together should win 15 games, the BIG ARM with the BIG BRAIN, awesoe combo:mj07: :142smilie :mj07:

Prediction....he goes back to his Farve like ways and tosses just as many ints. as Tds, gets put on his backside a chitload and is crying about the situation like the baby he is. Oh BTW, Jets finish below .500, I loved how this worked out even more now, becareful of what you ask for because you just may get it.:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

I'm with ya Dice, the J-E-T-S are the winner in this
deal and the Packers are the loser.
