The Oklahoma Sooners are now 4-0 straight up (SU) and 3-1 against the spread against (ATS) Top 25 opponents as the home team this season. Sounds impressive, right?

Not really.

That record amounts to about as much as pirate to a gold miner when the Sooners hit the road. Oklahoma is a worthless 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS versus ranked foes as the visiting club. And the club's lone cover in that spot came by a measly half-point against Oklahoma State.

The Sooners hit the road against the Missouri Tigers tonight, who just fell out of the Top 25 rankings yesterday. Missouri is an impressive 13-1 SU as the home squad this campaign. The Tigers have also clawed out a small profit at 6-4-1 ATS on home court.

The biggest task ahead for Missouri is getting past Oklahoma's Big 12-leading defense that allows only 60 points against per game. The Sooners are a little more giving on the road, where they allow a little more than 63 points per outing, and they also score about seven points less than normally.

But that could be little comfort for a Missouri team that can't seem to find its rhythm, mostly due to an immaturity.

"We've got some guys that haven't been there before," Tigers coach Quin Snyder said after his team's most recent loss. "Whether it's not being there because they're freshmen, or because they're in their first year with us, or because they're new as main guys."

Missouri was maimed at Colorado on Saturday, 68-81, and the Tigers failed to pick up the bullion for the third time in their last four outings.

What's even worse, is the club lost starting guard and leading dish man, Ricky Clemons (16.1 points, 4.5 assists). Clemons fell on his hand late in the game, breaking a bone, sidelining him indefinitely. He'll be replaced by junior Josh Kroenke, who scores just 3.7 points per game.

Oklahoma will most likely be without one of its starters also, as starting center Jabahri Brown suffered a concussion against Kansas on Saturday. Brown played only eight minutes before taking an accidental knee to the head and was still suffering symptoms yesterday.

Brown's teammates credited him with setting the tone in the SU and ATS win over the Jayhawks (77-70), as he netted seven of the team's first 12 points. He accounts for 5.2 boards per night.

Forward Kevin Bookout and guard Ebi Ere will have to pick up some of the slack on the boards. And if the Sooners continue to play like they have been, that won't be a problem.

"I said before the game, at my press conference Thursday, that I thought they were playing the best basketball of anybody in the league and I really believe that," Kansas coach Roy Williams said after getting beaten by Oklahoma.

The Sooners have collected the coin in their last three games.

Oddsmakers have Oklahoma as a 3 1/2-point 'chalk'.

I like your analysis but would like to point out that two of those road losses against ranked opponents happened very early in the year. One was to Alabama and was OU's first game on Nov. 14th and the second was on Dec. 28th. Kevin Bookout is a TRUE freshman who has steadily gotten better over the year, and unlike OSU, OU is peaking in their performance. I would not be worried about laying 3- points to Missouri....

OU -3- BIG!!!!:D
