Olympic deals a "20 cent" baseball line. A 20 cent baseball lines means there is a 20% difference in juice between the underdog and the favorite. For example:

Boston -150
Baltimore +130

A 10 cent baseball line, which has been traditionally dealt for years and years, has a 10% difference in the juice between the underdog and the favorite. For example:

Boston -150
Baltimore +140

Obviously the book takes in a higher percentage on balanced action when they deal a 20 cent line. My argument is that it doesn't matter to the player because if Olympic or CRIS or any other 20 cent baseball book offers, say, -145 and that is the best line on the board, then that is the line you should play.

Nick,

How many times do you bet a game when the line opens compared to later on in the day?

Your argument *only* has merit if you were to bet every game based on their advantageous opening line. The majority of ppl here bet an hour or so before gametime.

gman's point is that paying an extra 10cent juice on each game in a sport like MLB where there are so many games is just a losing proposition.

exactly.

i DO know where nick is coming from. of course there are gonna be times when a 20 cent book might have a better line than a 10 cent book. but by and large, how can playing at a 20cent book be advantageous? moreover, why let the books continue to rape the player. take a stand and dont give em a shot at your money during baseball.

BetAustralia is BetAustralia. Canbet is something separate and they are in the UK anyway. Canbet used to be my favorite book but they no longer are in part because the security that comes with being located in Australia is gone. They might as well be in Costa Rica now. The major reason why Canbet is no longer a book I use is because their reduced vig for hockey is gone and it is nearly impossible to find value in a moneyline anymore.

Look, you guys are acting like I don't use 10 cent books. I do. But if you were to ask me what book is ESSENTIAL for every baseball bettor, I'd say "CRIS" without hesitation and they deal 20 cent lines. Early openers, unique lines and 4 1/2 inning bets at 20 cents should be must-haves for a baseball bettor. WWTS is another book that is important to have but they don't open as early.

There is a also a very important point that you guys are missing. *When* you bet the game is far more important than which book you bet the game. A truly sharp gambler could beat the pants off almost any bettor in this forum using a single solitary 20 cent baseball book. The reason is that truly sharp players know *when* to play the line. The two most likely times to find big time value on a baseball play are right when it opens and right before the first pitch. It's not unusual to see a fave open at -170 and close at -195 or more. Now, you tell me where the edge is in betting at a 10 cent book with no overnights if your line opened at -180 at 8 a.m.?

NICK DONT ALL OVERNIGHT LINES HAVE A LIMIT I DONT KNOW YOUR BETTING STYLE BUT I DOUBT YOU CAN FIND ONE OVERNIGHT SHOP THAT WOULD EVEN TAKE A NICKLE BET NEVER MIND DIME BET.THIS IS THE LAST THING I WILL SAY AND I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS FOR YEARS 20 CENT BOOKS HAVE AN AUTOMATIC 4 TO 5 CENT JUICE INCREASE.I COMPARE LINES ALL THE TIME SO I KNOW HOW IT WORKS.THIS IS WHAT 15 AND 20 CENT SHOPS DO AND I KNOW FOR A FACT.I FIND A MAJORITY OF OVERNIGHT LINES ARE SET HIGH ON PURPOSE AND USUALLY COME DOWN NOW YOU REALLY ARE F-CKING YOURSELF WITH A 20 CENT SPORTSBOOK YOU HAVE BET ON THE HIGH SIDE AND NOW YOU EVEN LOSE MONEY ON YOUR TAKE BACK.NO SANE PERSON CAN MAKE A POINT FOR 20 CENT BASEBALL LINES IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS GAMBLER END OF STORY

BET AUSTRALIA -138 TAKE BACK +128
15 TO 20 CENT SHOPS LIKE OLYMPIC -142 TAKE BACK +122

DONT TELL ME NICK DOUGLAS I SEE IT ALL THE TIME 15 AND 20 CENT SHOPS ALWAYS INFLATE THE NUMBER ON THE FAVORITE BECAUSE THEY KNOW THE DOG WONT PAY BACK AS MUCH ITS A LICENSE TO STEAL:thefinger

I WILL NEVER FORGET THE GREAT CASCADE ROBBERY OF 2003 THE DAY LENNY AND CASCADE SPORTSBOOK STOLE 660 DOLLARS FROM ME THEN CALLED ME A SUCKER (THANK GOD THESE CROOKS ARE OUT OF BUSINESS SO THEY CANT STEAL ANY MORE PLAYERS MONEY)

Gosh, I can't believe I have to do this...

Jim, take a look at the current hockey lines for both Olympic (20 cents) and Pinnacle (10 cents). There are 9 games on today's card and on SEVEN of them, you can find a better price at Olympic on one of the sides. So that means out of 18 possible side bets today, you can save money on 7 (39%) of them by having a 20 cent book. Same kind of thing happens every day during baseball season. The bottom line is that if you are excluding books just because they deal a 20 cent baseball line, you are probably costing yourself money in the long term.

I think this is the best way to state it. If I am shopping lines at a dozen books, and the best one is at a 20cent shop, you are losing money in the long run by excluding them in your search.

This is exactly why I have an account atPinnacle and Olympic. Since I probably play favorites 70% of the time, more of my plays are with Pinnacle, but there are many cases where the 20 cent line has provided more value for me, especially on dogs. I don't see the point of using a 20 cent book exclusively, especially when there are 10 cent lines out there as a viable option, but value can still be found in the 20 cent books.

"the bunker"
as far as customer service goes

as far as customer service goes

i can understand the fact that the "clerks" aren`t exactly perky.......

they are dealing with "gamblers".....and if you peruse the net and some other gambling forums(one in particular comes to mind),i`m sure that these people deal with more than their share of jerk-offs....not to mention that there always seems to be somewhat of a language barrier....

i don`t care if they are pleasant.....as long as they do the job....

and oly does the job very well,imo....
