cooz, like seeing your sat. posts, that is some funny stuff, do a little more puffing so my hangovers are pretty tame nowadays. :)

I HEAR YA SHAMROCK..THE SOX HAVENT BEEN DOING ANYTHING LATELY ...EXPLAIN THIS TO ME..

ALL YEAR THEY HAVE BABYING MARTINEZ...PITCH COUNT..ETC..SO THAT HE WILL BE "HEALTHY" FOR THE STRETCH RUN...NOW THEY ARE DOWN 2-0 OR 3-0 LATE LAST NIGHT...GOING INTO THE EIGHTH...YOU COULD SEE HE WAS FALTERING A BIT AND THE BULLPEN WAS FRESH..THEY LEAVE HIM IN THERE TO GIVE UP A COUPLE OF DINGERS???...I DIDNT UNDERSTAND THIS LOGIC...ALL YEAR IF MARTINEZ WAS UP IN THE LATE INNINGS...SAY 2-0...3-0...THEY PULL HIM REGARDLESS OF HOW WELL HE IS PITCHING...LAST NIGHT ITS JUST THE OPPOSITE..HE IS DOWN IN THE LATE INNINGS AND THEY LEAVE HIM IN THERE...MAYBE IM JUST PISSED ABOUT THE WHOLE SITUATION RIGHT NOW?

REGARDING THE TOTAL PLAY TONIGHT...IF ANYTHING I LIKE THE UNDER...BUT WAKEFIELD SCARES ME ON TOTAL PLAYS..WE USUALLY KNOW AS SOX FANS THAT THE FIRST INNING OR TWO ARE GOOD INDICATORS AS TO HOW THE KNUCKLER WILL BE DOING....WAKE USUALLY GOES IN GETS SHELLED QUICK AND STRUGGLES OR HE PITCHES A GREAT GAME...THERE DOSENT SEEM TO BE ANY MIDDLE GROUND WITH HIM...ITS EITHER A GREAT GAME OR BAD GAME..SO I GUESS MY ANSWER WILL BE THAT THIS GAME EITHER GOES WAY UNDER OR EASY OVER...THE WAY HE HAS BEEN PITCHING LATELY WOULD INDICATE A GOOD UNDER PLAY BUT TONIGHT HE IS IN THE DOME WITHOUT ANY HUMIDTY OR ELEMENTS TO HELP OUT THE MOVEMENT ON HIS PITCH... I AM NO EXPERT ON THE "KNUCKLER" AND WHAT INCREASES THE MOVEMENT AND/OR EFFECTIVENESS BUT IM PRETTY SURE WHEN ITS HUMID ITS GOING TO BE DIFFICULT TO HIT..

THE TRENDS CERTAINLY POINT TO AN UNDER PLAY..AND THE SOX BATS HAVE BEEN "PATHETIC" SO AN UNDER PLAY COULD BE THE WAY TO GO..I THINK SANTANA WILL SHUT THIS TEAM DOWN AGAIN TONIGHT

REED HAS UMPED 3 WAKEFIELD GAMES ON THE ROAD SINCE 1998
THROUGH 2001...IN THOSE THREE GAMES WAKE GAVE UP...7 ...RUNS..5 RUNS...4 RUNS... IM STILL CONTEMPLATING THIS PLAY..BUT I RARELY PLAY A SIDE AND AN UNDER THE TOTAL PLAY...BECAUSE I ALWAYS FIND MYSELF AT SOME POINT CHEERING AGAINST MYSELF....ANY THOUGHTS??...GOOD LUCK ..COOZ

I was shocked as you to see Pedro in the 8th. After the game Little said they were trying to get Martinez every opportunity to get the win. What kind of shit is that?? That's the problem with professional Sports specially MLB, personal statistics mean everything, certainly more than the dam team.

Sox looked terrible swinging at everything, Evans should probably go as hitting Coach. Damon swings at every pitch possible, hitting one foul after the next, I swear every time up he could walk 3 times. Weak ground balls and easy popups, Damon hit the only hard ball of game and that was not even close to strike.
I believe Wakefield has great stats in domes, however I can't seem to find those results.

Off topic I like over Patriots tonight, gave my tickets away to dam hot

good luck tonight

..lots of interesting angles i see in this one, might not play it but i will be very curious to see how it's played out, you also have this as a rematch game, so the second look for most of these guys within a week(of course i always wonder what it's like to see pedro and then wakefield back to back)..

twins are starting to see wakefield a few times now, although only guzman and hunter have much success...
guzman 3-7 2 doubles, 1 3b 2 bb, hunter 5-12 i bomb 5 rbi
but most the others guys havent been too dazzling.
hocking 0-14, jones 1-8, koskie 1-8, mientkiewicz 1-12, pierzynski 1-7, rivas 1-7..so what does this mean? i have no fukin idea :)

another fwiw
Two members of the four-man umpiring crew for this series are Cretin-Derham Hall graduates from St. Paul: Friday's second-base umpire Tim Tschida and Wegner. (however tschida is the one who tossed hawkins last night, and neither will be behind the plate)

not much cooz, just thought i'd stir the pot a little here today.. i have to agree with you guys about martinez staying in, a little surprising considering the way he's been handled this year...anyway thought this was a funny quote from gardenhire, just reiterates the point if you have some free time and can check out a pedro start, well you should watch it(same with schilling and a few others)...

"At one point when we were talking in the dugout, I said, 'That was a cutter,' " Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "And somebody said, 'He's got one of those, too?' That's the complete package we talk about. We didn't break through in great fashion against him."
