az/col over 13: deryl cousins has been one of baseball's best "over" umps over years past. this year his o/u numbers are fairly flat, but his is another case similar to chuck meriwether i discussed a couple of days ago. that is to say, even though his numbers have been neutral this year on the o/u, his k/bb ratio remains among the lowest in the majors - 11.47 k/g (ranking 72nd out of 77 umps), and 8.24 bb/g (ranking 5th). thus, as with meriwether, i feel his numbers are due to correct as far as overs are concerned. no better place to do it than coors park. additionally, we have two pitchers that are prone to the dinger - anderson has allowed 7 hr's in 53.1 innings on the road; thomson has allowed 12 hr's in 58 innings at home. thomson is basicly a 6 inning pitcher, which means we should see plenty of that colorado bullpen.
good luck today.
