In the last start Washburn played against Yankees .. Anaheim won the game 6-3.

Boston got massacred. Look for them to come back today. Anytime a team gets hammered a lot if they have some pride they WILL rebound.

Chalk is little high but if we get a winner than $$ is a $$.

Couple of points here ..

both teams are headin into different directions. Kansas is sinkin again while Minny is resurgin still. KC is 3-19 in their last 22 games on the road. Twins are 12-2 in their last 14 games.

In last 3 games Suppan is 1-2 with an ERA of 8.66
In last 3 games Reed is 3-0 with an ERA of 4.50

In the last 19 meetings betn these teams Minny is 15-4

KC in last 10 games is battin 0.214 against RHP
Minny in last 10 games is battin 0.317 against RHP

KC for the season Vs right handed starters is 33-50
Minny for the season Vs right handed starters is 52-22

Minny in home games is 36-20
KC in road games is 14-39

KC in games played on artificial turf is 2-6
Minny in games played on artificial turf is 42-24

KC when playin a team with winnin record is 15-32
Minny when playin team with losin record is 42-22

KC when playin on Friday is 7-10
Minny when playin on Friday is 11-7

SUPPAN is 5-4 when starting against MINNESOTA with an ERA of 3.36 and a WHIP of 1.268.
His team's record is 6-7 in these starts

REED is 0-0 when starting against KANSAS CITY with an ERA of 13.51 and a WHIP of 3.003.
His team's record is 1-0 in these starts.

Reed got hammered by KC last time out so look for a good outing from him today. KC also slumpin offensively which shud be good for Reed.

I think Minny will win this one comfortably but am still not takin the run line. Will stick to Money Line and get the $$.

# look @ playin Atlanta small. I think Atlanta game has good chance of going UNDER the total. Also on Fridays Atlanta for the season is somethin like 22-2

Don't wanna talk you out of Minny today, but I just don't see a whole lot of value in this line.

I guess the main problems I have is the fact that Reed just doesn't seem to fair well at home or in domes for that matter. He's got that high ERA of 5.48 at home this season and a high career ERA of 5.01 in domes. Plus KC hit him hard his only outing vs them this season.

Also just a FYI....Reed hasn't pitched since July 22(missed one start) because of a tender right index finger. Even if that ain't bothering him, you still have the fact that he missed a start which sometimes can throw a pitcher off as they are used to going every 5 days or so.

Plus side of course is Kansas City is really struggling offensively of late and are just 3-19 in their last 22 games on the road.

Would give a slight advantage to Minny, but think the line is very inflated and just be careful with the pitching situation in this one.

Reed cut his finger on a piece of luggage in June and missed a start.

Upon his return, at Phila, he was brilliant. He left after 7 innings of shutout, two hits, no walks. He previously had a 4-7 record against them, 4. 07 era.


but one sample isn't much to go on, and NDNfan has many other good points too!

one factor I see is that since Minny had easy game yesterday thier relievers shud be rested in case they need to come in.

Minny bats are still hittin and motivation is the big key I look for.
Minny wanna make a good run and they will play good enuf to win. Of course a lot depends on the pitchin but if resolve is there .. anythin is possible.

and it looks to me that one thing which is clear to the Minny players is home field advantage.

Minny is chasin the Yankee's.

Entering Friday's play, the Yankees had 37 games remaining against sub-.500 teams, and 17 remaining against plus-.500 teams.

The Twins had 36 games remaining against sub-.500 teams, and 17 against plus-.500 teams.

From the response of a couple if players printed in the paper it seemed clear that they believe that they HAVE TO WIN against sub-.500 teams.
