Junkie,

Tough loss for you tonight. I started to recommend that you not bet the last half of your BR on one game, but decided to keep my nose out of it. If I had it would have won and I would have felt bad.

If you read this I want to make a suggestion that I hope you will understand comes with a humble desire to give a helping hand and not act like I have all the answers . . . because I certainly don't.

The link below will take you to a thread from several months ago called "How to pick a winner with 99% accuracy". There is a lot of good information on that thread that I think will help you realize why you should never put half your bankroll on any one game.
http://www.madjacksports.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/005125.html

Also, I highly recommend you never blindly follow anyone else, nor totally disregard them either. I have been gambling since the early 80's and to this day I read nearly every thread on this forum and learn something from each poster . . . even those who are new like yourself.

The key as Kenny Rogers says is "know what to hold and what to fold." There are more quality handicappers on this forum than on any other forum on the net, but still, "sheer fickle fate" will determine the outcome of a significant portion of the games we play.

You can make money wagering on sports, but only 3% of those that attempt to do it find success. The information you will get on this forum will increase your odds of being in that 3% tremendously.

I hope you didn't totally wipe out tonight. If you continue to "look the devil in the eye" as we all do on here, I have one other very important suggestion.

Read the following. Not only will it make you laugh . . . it will give you a better feeling about Mad Jacks and the "bums" who hang out here.

Best wishes for success.

Like always NCU appears and gave his advices. As you said you read all the posts, so maybe you dont remember me, but it was you who wrote me some excellent lines that i would never forget. I guess that the last thing that GJ wants to hear is how he screwed up all, im referring to those smartasses lines "told ya, dont do that again when i hear that someone bet the farm on one single game i bet the other side and won, anyway good luck". But NCU are not that kind, he really cares about the people on this forum. Anyway i just wanna thank you for all your advices, keep always being that way.

pd. With all respect I considered you like the grandpa (i dont know your age, probably your 25) of this forum, that is always there to help his grandchildre.

Sure I remember you Jessy. I read your posts all the time.

I guess the reason I try to offer a few helping words is because I have been there myself far too many times. GJ didn't screw up. He just completed a chapter in an educational process. Somehow all the words from others in the world don't leave us with nearly as much wisdom as "experience". It isn't how many times we get knocked down but how many times we get back up and remember what we did wrong. In my years of gambling I have had many many many painful experiences. I hope each one left me a little wiser . . . that way the money lost at least went for something.

It has been said that when someone with experience meets someone with money the one with the expecience usually ends up with the money and the one with the money ends up with experience.

God bless you my friend from down Mexico way.

One more thing, Jessy. Thanks for making me laugh. Your thought that I might be 25 brought a big smile to my face.

No, I do have grandchildren in real life and I try to teach them how to avoid pitfalls as well, but they too have discovered that experience is a far better teacher.
