milwaukee brewers (+190) over houston

two great pitchers going at it, but i think milwaukee ultimately wins this game. even though astros are playing for a lot right now, i think this is a dangerous series for them -- they were geared up to play the best team in baseball and they played well, taking 2 out of 3. now theyre traveling to play at home the next night against the cellar dwelling brewers. oswalt has been up and down the last month and a half. he's alternated good starts with awful starts. sheets had a rough stretch in mid-august but he's in a groove right now, allowing just 4 earned runs in his last 30 innings while striking out 31. brewers arent exactly hitting the cover off the ball, but brewers/astros games have been pretty high scoring this year so im confident beermen find a way to get enough runs across to get sheets the win.

the more i think about this one, the more i gotta play it:

cleveland and kansas city under 9 (+100)

line looks weird to me. im either going to nail this play dead on, or getting sucked into a bad loss.

* westbrook has been dominant lately. in his last 3 starts, he's allowed 3 runs in 23 innings and all 3 starts were against good hitting teams -- new york, anaheim, and oakland

* westbrook has been dominant at home -- 2.19 era overall and just 4 runs allowed in his last 4 home starts combined.

* westbrook pitched a complete game shutout against kansas city at jacobs field a few months ago.

* wood pitched well in his one start vs cleveland this year (2 runs in 6.2 innings and no walks)

* kansas city is struggling with the bats (shutout in 2 straight games)

and what put me over the edge is the weather. its getting really chilly here in cleveland. wind is making it feel like its a november evening. i dont see any fly balls carrying tonight. wind should knock down the balls driven to the alleys.

gl. im either real smart, or a real sucker. hopefully, its the former.

wow, you weren't kidding when you indicaed the weather would help the under. game conditions now up show 66 degrees and the wind blowing from center @ 26 mph. also noticed rob drake was behind the plate. one of the ump systems i like to look at is trend reversals. after being a big time over ump last season and the first half of this season, drake has gone 2-9-2 under in his last 13. coincidence? i think not.
