this will probably be the only game i play on sunday:
2 units....oakland (+6.5) over baltimore
*ravens coming off a 3-gm homestand where they outscored their three opponents 129-56. thats all good. but ravens laying almost a touchdown off road chalk cross-country? no thanks. baltimore has been the beneficiary of TWELVE turnovers the last three weeks. there is something to be said for good teams creating turnovers. i understand that. but frisco and cincinnati were beyond careless with the football and really gave the ravens a ton of short field to work with. raiders will be content to make this an extremely ugly game and 'run-run-short pass-punt'
if need be. oaklands actually been playing pretty well at home this year. raiders a brutal 0-7 on the road, but 3-3 at the coliseum (and have played some tough foes at home....cincy/diego/k-city/jets/vikings/broncos). im not going to make oakland out to be a prize. theyre a mess and everyone knows it. but that only adds to the appeal of this game. ugly home dog that everyone is looking to fade. baltimore has put up a shitload of points the last three weeks. sorry, but im not buying anthony wright as a legit quarterback. hes exceeded all expectations to this point, but all three of his starts have been at home (not to mention ravens played two terrible road teams who were coming cross-country themselves -- frisco and seattle). now its the ravens turn to go coast-to-coast. would not surprise me to see the ravens lay an egg. oakland more than capable of winning this game outright. if wright captains another brilliant effort all the way across the country, ill more than happily concede the loss. raiders an ugly dog, but thats the way i like em
