this will probably be the only game i play on sunday:

2 units....oakland (+6.5) over baltimore

*ravens coming off a 3-gm homestand where they outscored their three opponents 129-56. thats all good. but ravens laying almost a touchdown off road chalk cross-country? no thanks. baltimore has been the beneficiary of TWELVE turnovers the last three weeks. there is something to be said for good teams creating turnovers. i understand that. but frisco and cincinnati were beyond careless with the football and really gave the ravens a ton of short field to work with. raiders will be content to make this an extremely ugly game and 'run-run-short pass-punt'
if need be. oaklands actually been playing pretty well at home this year. raiders a brutal 0-7 on the road, but 3-3 at the coliseum (and have played some tough foes at home....cincy/diego/k-city/jets/vikings/broncos). im not going to make oakland out to be a prize. theyre a mess and everyone knows it. but that only adds to the appeal of this game. ugly home dog that everyone is looking to fade. baltimore has put up a shitload of points the last three weeks. sorry, but im not buying anthony wright as a legit quarterback. hes exceeded all expectations to this point, but all three of his starts have been at home (not to mention ravens played two terrible road teams who were coming cross-country themselves -- frisco and seattle). now its the ravens turn to go coast-to-coast. would not surprise me to see the ravens lay an egg. oakland more than capable of winning this game outright. if wright captains another brilliant effort all the way across the country, ill more than happily concede the loss. raiders an ugly dog, but thats the way i like em

Gman as u know I am a HUGE OAK Raider fan. My #1 concern is J Lewis. That guy is a bowling ball. We have like no D LIne, losing parella was HUGE. We got stubby back but he isnt much and r mirer is playing hurt... there is some value with Oak but c woodson doesnt care anymore and we cant pass. I think A Wright has to have 1 bad game sometime soon and u r right B'more may think this game is a cakewalk... if we stick to the RUN with wheatly we have a chance but we will need a special teams D or INT for a TD to score. Just hate Ed Reed that guy blocks a punt it seems every game... i like Oak +7 , i may buy that .5 pt... good call on Denver last week

i am at work until late everynight i never get to play any of your picks but on the weekends and u keep winning on the weekday plays lol... go figure!!

GL!

gman2, Just like to point out that this is not a nothing game for Balt. If they lose and Cincy beats S.F. they are tied again. The winner of the division will most likely be the only one to move on, as the other is remote chance to beat out Miami, Denver, and Tenn, the presently second place teams in their divs. After Oakland, Balt will finish off with two div. opponents, Cleve. and Pitt.,never an easy task. I agree with you that they might not cover, or might lose outright, but I don`t think there is any way in hell, they will take Oak. lightly. They should be up for this game IMO.

Good luck Sunday. I`m watching this one.

I agree that this would typically be a bad spot for baltimore BUT
as skanoochies points out, Billick will have them ready.

I think the line value favors Oakland slightly but a teaser on
baltimore takes care of that.......................gl

as an nfl franchise, i would HOPE theyre ready.

i think the "they'll be ready" angle is overused just like the "must-win game for home field" angle is overused.

having a team ready is one thing.
executing on gameday is entirely another.
this is professional football. both teams should be ready/

had to add one. planned on only playing the raiders. but like this one as well:

1 unit......buffalo (+5.5) over tennessee
gonna take a shot on a live dog who has shown signs of life the last few weeks. and the team laying the chalk has the inferior defense. bills still have offensive issues, but really like the way that defense is playing

to my amazement, browns look loose and playing to their potential for maybe the 2nd or 3rd time all season. broncos not necessarily flat -- browns just playing well for once. browns playcalling is creative and wide-open for the first time in awhile. had no interest in this one going in, but at halftime, ill take a small shot:

1 unit.....clowns (+6.5) over denver

didnt plan on playing anything besides the raiders today but felt good about the bills and feel good about the clowns

good hits with oakland, buffalo, and the 2nd half, you've been on a nice roll, nice to see someone on here just post analysis, and actually have it come in and win, as opposed to bs and no analysis and losses, keep it up gman

final play: 1 unit.....new york 2h (+3) over new orleans
dont think the saints are disciplined enough to close this game out. palmer hasnt looked too bad. very vanilla pass offense for him obviously, but he doesnt look clueless like some guys making their 1st start. i think the giants might cut into this lead a little bit.

Great day Gman! I rode with you on 2 of your winners. I lucked out on a 3 team "under" parlay that came through too.

I like the Giants in the 2nd too, plus I took under the 20 on the Nolan theory.

Good luck!

Great call on the OAKLAND!! I never saw it coming. You are truly a capper with a vision, and if you're gonna pick one, it's GREAT to have an upset DOG that wins outright.

Keep it Positive, Topdog

ar182/nysports/ et al:

thank you for the nice words. i really appreciate them

fix is on:

sorry about the terrible new york 2h pick. being a perfectionist, i tend to focus on where i went wrong. the nyg 2h pick was awful and it soured a really good day. 3-1 for the day, but hate to end on a note like that. my sincere apology.
