Looking very hard at Georgia Tech laying 1 over Wake Forest. . . matches so many things that I look for in that it is a system play, GT is a great home team, Wake Forest is not so great on the road, and the public so far is on Wake Forest.

Will plan to be around tomorrow afternoon a couple hours before all games tip off and will decide just how big I will play this one. But I also like the fact that Wake has had one less day to prepare for this one given the layover at Maryland.

This game jumped out at me too-GT is tough at home and I think Wake will be scrambling a bit after the fiasco earlier in the week. It'll be interesting to see where this line goes.

You know, I'm not gonna hold out until tomorrow:

This is my Game of the Year. . .

I had a couple concerns. . . mainly whether or not I felt GT could outrebound Wake Forest. . . after further research, I think they can. . . Wake outrebounded Tech by 10 in the first meeting, but Tech has done a great job of rebounding at home and a decent job of it lately. Wake was outrebounded 20 to 40 against Maryland. . . if they couldn't get up for Maryland, how are they gonna turn around in three days and get up for this one? GT at home on a televised game. . . I think they outrebound Maryland and even if they don't (but this is still a big reason why this is my GOY) then they can still get it done at home with some key calls down the stretch.

Basically, I feel Wake will continue to play as flat as they did against Maryland as they have not had enough time to prepare for what they are going to face on Thursday night. . . no question the extra day that Wake had to wait to face Maryland is an advantage for GT on Thursday night.

One more small point that I forgot to mention:

In the first meeting, Wake won the game from the free throw line. . . 35 attempts to GT's 15. Don't expect this to be the same case at GT. . .in fact, no chance. Wake may get to the line a little more than GT, but certainly not a huge difference unless Wake comes out flat and fouls GT because they cannot hang with them.

So much points to Georgia Tech from what I see when you get down to numbers and everything else. . . yet the public for now from what I have seen feels Wake Forest is the play. . . probably because of the ranking and the recent win at home over Duke. Very similar to my Auburn play over Alabama earlier in the year which was very very close to being up to this level for me. The difference here is timing. . . with Wake Forest maybe being a little unstable and Tech coming off of two road losses, I really like the situation.

Hopefully it pays off for us!

Akron and Loyola Chicago are the only other games I would touch. . . both home teams and both in revenge situations. However, there's only one game for me tomorrow. . . then a break on Friday heading into the weekend.

G TECH looks like a serious play.

They are at home with the familiar rims and the point spread is too short. Wake just got crushed by Maryland....this may be a replica. !!!!!!!

I had this one circled yesterday when I saw it as a pick.
Last night I decided not to play it when I heard all the hoopla during one of the games regarding the travel of Wake etc etc. Personnaly I think it the right side, but I am passing. Just seemed like too much being said regarding the travel from Maryland etc.

I may be the only one taking wake forest, I really think that they win this game. All the stats back GT, undefeated at home and all but I have to go with what i feel. I can not come up with any argument that even comes close to making you take wake forest, everything does point to GT, that is even more reason for me to like WF. Best of luck nickelback. this is a small play for me as after the last two days i thought i would slow it down a notch.

Don't forget GT is coming off a loss too. Actually lost their last 3 road games against FSU, NCSU, and Clem. Beat Terps at home. I don't think the snow is a factor, though it could be. I think home team is a factor. GT or no play imho.
