Hello gents,
It's a shame baseball season is almost over, I was really starting to perfect the fine art of losing money in that sport. Anyway, glad college football season is finally here. My favorite sport to watch, and bet on, by far. Just a small play today and an opinion.
Oregon (-13) - I'm probably a bit of a turncoat for betting against my old school as much as I do, but it's been profitable in the past so no need to change things now. Locker is a stud, but unless he can somehow catch the passes he throws and play D as well, I think this one will get ugly. The loss of Rankin at RB is going to be a huge blow to the Huskies, as well as Garcia at C and just about every WR this side of the Mississippi. The UW offense is younger than the Chinese womens gymnastics team.
On the defensive side of the ball UW couldn't stop the run to save their lives last year, giving up, I believe, about 6 YPC. To make matters worse, they have lost their best defensive player, EJ Savannah, to ineligibility.
I'm still not sold on Roper at QB for UO and, generally speaking, I don't think Oregon will be at the same level they were last year, but this is a bitter rivalry and UO typically hands the Huskies their asses in Autzen. I see more of the same today. Oregon 34 - 13
I also lean to the over in the Okie St./Wazzu game. I know a lot of people are on OSU today, but I think this will be a tight game. Wazzu plays well at Qwest and they will have more fans in Seattle than they would in Pullman (Martin Stadium is tiny). OSU should points up but if their D is even half as bad as it was last year, WSU shouldn't have problems scoring either. OSU 42 - 38
GL all!
