Hammer's Analysis
Take DETROIT +10 1/2 over Minnesota 5 DIMES
This pick is much more
about what I expect the Vikings to do in this game than Detroit becoming respectable
overnight. This game qualifys as a trap game and i expect the "Vikes" ta fall inta it !.
They just beat Cleveland 34 - 20. They
were solid in the game but wore down the Browns and let
them pretty much beat themselves much more than they went out and beat the
"Crap" out of them. Next week
Minny has its home opener against an up and coming
San Francisco team and then host my Green Bay Packers on
Monday Night Football in week four. A team that goes from the
emotional high off opening day, to the playing a loser of 18 straight
games, to its home opener and then to a Monday Night showdown
could easily be caught looking ahead in week two. The Lions, on
the other hand, have this week and a home date vs Washington next
week to try to break the streak before a brutal stretch of @ Chicago,
Pittsburgh and @ Green Bay.
A similar situation occurred last season when Minnesota rolled into
Detroit in week 14 between a week 13 game again rival Chicago and
a week 15 showdown against playoff bound Arizona. The Vikings
looked sluggish all day and needed a fourth quarter comeback to squeak
out a 20-16 victory.
10 1/2 Rd Fave.......................not in my lifetime !!!
Also............win by 11 or more points 2 consecutive road games.................Naaaaaaaaaah!!!
