HOW IS FSU GOING TO RUN ON UCLA?

Notre Dame couldn't do it. USC couldn't do it. Oregon State couldnt do it. So there is nothing logically that makes me think UCLA will just let FSU run the ball

So, if you can't run it very effectively, you need to pass it.

And last I checked, Chris Weinke will not be starting the game tonight...two of the worst passers in the BCS conferences will be though - in Lee and Weatherford.

With a offensive coordinator that got fired b/c he just isn't good enough...but good enough to coach this game apparently.

They have only beaten two bowl teams - Rice and Troy. TWO.

UCLA has been playing monster defense that started with Notre Dame (sans that hangover against WSU at the Rose Bowl) and has carried on through beating USC. And FSU doens't even come close to USC from a passing perspective.

It sucks b/c they are off a big win and the public is on UCLA, but that isn't enough to scare me off. This line is -3 b/c of the reputation of a FSU team from the early 2000's not the mid 2000's. Its good that the PAC has had such a dismal showing thusfar to back the public off a little bit.

Hey, if Lee and Weatherford beat me through the air...SO BE IT. Ill take my chances that that won't happen, though.

UCLA -3

How bout you take off your west coast blinders and ask yourself how will UCLA run on FSU who has a better run D than the Bruins @ 84 per??

Is that 197 a game through the air going to carry UCLA? Hell as bad as FSU was on O this year they were better than UCLA 25 pts per to 22 pts per....and better through the air as well....

FSU simply cant lose the turnover battle which is where they struggle. They are not good enough to overcome turnovers vs UCLA.

Keep looking at statistics...I think you can still get in a bet on Michigan who had the alleged best run defense of all time...until they played a good team.

Im no mathlete, but the 55 points against Rice, the 51 points against Duke...dont you think that kind of throws off the stats a little?

How about against Bowl teams?
Wake Forest - ZERO
Florida - 14 with 235 total yards of offense! WOW
Maryland - 24 (their best game, by far)
BC 19
Clemson 20

And they actually regressed as the year went on.

Keep looking strictly at the stats though, it will do you well. :142smilie

Man, you must have read alot of Scooters posts....you seem to be cut from the same mold..

How would you explain this stellar UCLA giving up:

38 to Cal

37 to Washington St & over 500 yards total O :142smilie

29 to Washington :scared

30 to Oregon w/ over 250 rushing yards against. :nono:

Well UCLA played Rice...not FSU fault that UCLA couldnt even put up half as many pts....or that they gave up more than twice as many as FSU.

Look on the bright side......

26 pts isnt all that bad for a PAC 10 team out of conference, even vs C-USA. :142smilie

ucla season in 1 word has been been defense! when they played it, they won. plain and simple... we are still playing without our best receiver, tight end and a 2nd string QB. the offense is developing but its not like in 05' when we could score 30+ against most teams.
funny how it is we had the offense last year with the worst defesne...
now defense is very good but offense is another year away.

I am not going to break it down b/c I really care less what you think, but if you dont think WHEN teams plays each other doesnt matter, than you are really a retard.

Hey man U of A beat BYU the first game of the year...and U of A killed Oregon...but they didnt make a bowl game. They played BYU early and at home, and Oregon when their QB's both have lost all confidence. If they played BYU tonight..what would the line be? BYU - 10 ? -14?

Look at how they are coming INTO the bowl game...the question is WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY.

UCLA's defense has a new confidence since that WSU game, which stemmed from holding Notre Dame to 13 points until those final three plays.

How is FSU coming into this game? A dismissed O Coordinator, an undecided QB situation, and lackluster results including getting shut out against Wake Forest.

Hey guys......i love playing bowl dogs, so it pains me to take a favorite.....but i am with the Bruins laying the short number......i just hope they are done taking bows from the USC win and are focused.....but here is why i am actively betting against FSU:

The Noles are 9-11 straight up in their last 20 games.....among all the stats thrown about this game, this little number is indeed worth noting......i know, the proverbial pride is at stake here for FSU and they want to give Lil Bowden something positive to end on, but i just feel the the QB duo they have will be overwhelmed tonight by the Bruins D......i see a short field and maybe a UCLA defensive score giving them room to breath in what otherwise will be a tightly played, slobber-knocker of a game in potentially crappy weather.

Whoever y'all play......Good Luck!!!!

Its nice to get the last laugh on a jackass like yourself.

First off, its funny how you take the high road and call me unintelligent for "name calling" then call me a jackass. Funny.

If you would re read my post I said - If Weatheford beats me through the air, so be it. He did, and I would make the bet again. FSU only averaged 3.5 yards per carry, so they really didnt run all that effectively against UCLA.

The fumble on their own 30, the blocked punt, the missed Pass interference call and the Pick 6 all were the telling signs of the game...FSU got the big plays.

Its called gambling for a reason. You also said, "how is UCLA going to run on FSU??...they averaged 5.5 yards per rush. So they ran pretty well against them, didnt they?

So I handicapped the game exactly how I thought it would, turnovers are unpredictable...what is predictable, is an internet tough guy like yourself would bump this thread and show everyone how big of a man you are and how right you were, even though you really werent. Clown.

I had the same exact outlook of the game as you did Marra. I watched UCLA and FSU pretty closely this year and like yourself I would make the same UCLA and Under bet that I did yesterday. You can't handicap the bounce, and you can't handicap turnovers. If the guys who all follow west coast teams the closest are all on one play, more often than not it is the right play.

3Sec I don't know what your problem is coming into almost every thread telling everyone how bad Pac10 is. We all know you disagree with Marra on this game, but to come in and rub a loss in his face speaks volumes about someone.

GL with the rest of your plays this season guys
