Miiss. St. -4.5

There is no way Miss St. is going to loose to back to back C-USA opponents. Tulane by the way is a decent team and were overlooked last week by MSU. Houston is much worse than Tulane, though, and I honestly cannot believe this line.

Any comments regarding this game appreciated.

You may be right but with Jackie Sherrill at the helm in Starksville I doubt I will be playing them again this year. The loss to Tulane was a absolutely disguisting coaching job and the team again is completely undisciplined. Tulane may be better that Houston but Tulane's defense is weak as hell, Northwestern State nearly knocked off Tulane. Taking Jackie Sherrill on the road minus points is a iffy propoition. Good Luck on the game!

...well, I am on this one also. This is my largest play of the week...and of the early season for that matter. I don't know if that makes you feel good or not after seeing my dismal performance in the ncaa contest. LOL :D

I'm expecting the Bulldogs to come out pissed and dominate Houston for 60 minutes.... Miss. St's secondary is in a mess and it was exposed in games against the pass-happy Ducks and Tulane. Houston is not a pass-happy team and I expect Miss St's LBs to shut down the run.... This LB core has the talent to be one of the best in the SEC...the secondary has to be one of the worst. I played Miss St -4.5 (ev) last night for my largest play of the season to date.

...good luck with your plays this weekend, especially this one. ;)

don't disgree with your play, but your reasoning may not be correct. are you sure you haven't looked at UofH's offense this year under new head coach Briles? It is a different kind of offense (formations and sets), much like he ran at Stephenville high here in Texas. They do throw the ball, and and can throw it a lot. I am not saying they don't run (the have a good o-line) but they do like to throw. I agree with your play, but if MSU's secondary is as bad as i have heard then U of H should put up some points.

Miss St. is not a good team, and this will be a public side, I would be really, really careful.

...not trying to start any kind of argument, but Houston hasn't been very proficient in their passing attack thusfar, not to say that they won't go off vs a weak Miss St secondary....

Houston pass attack was good vs Rice, but that's not saying too much.... I think that the QB went 17-22 for 246, but most of that yardage was from 2 bombs...a 47 yard TD pass and a 56 yard TD pass.

Michigan absolutely shut down Houston's pass attack even though Houston was behind the entire game.... The QB went 15-31, but only for 64 yards.... I realize that Miss St's secondary is not as good as Michigan's, but I don't think that they are as bad as Rice either....

LW, the QB went 8-18 for 157 in a rainstorm, but one 61 yard TD pass made up over 1/3 of these passing yards. Might as well throw this one out, as they played in a downpour....

Essentially, the QB has only thrown for 3 TDs this year and all of them were on long pass plays. I just don't see Houston beating Miss St through the air like Oregon and Tulane did.... I could be wrong and have been wrong before...and will be wrong again, but I played Miss St and think that they will come to play this week.... Good luck to everyone, whatever you play this weekend. :)

here's my two cents...i show these two teams dead even on paper.............right now i'd have to ride with Houston and the points...only.if someone held a gun to my head..

since J.L. Dunn left from Miss St.(defensive coordinator for many years) to Memphis .....State will struggle the rest of the season...i think many are under estimating Houston..good luck

Why bother trusting a Miss St team laying points on the road that just finished blowing a huge lead to a Tulane team that I don't think is that much better than Houston? Their defense is nothing like the Miss St defense of a few years ago and really don't have much going offensively either. With so many games on the slate for Saturday, I think there are plenty of better plays on the board.

I hate Sherril and State more than anyone. That being said, State will not lose to 2 c-usa teams in a row. They are badly coached and lacking dunn's defense but they ought to be kicked out of the sec if they lose to both cusa teams.

i stand corrected. nice numbers and i take back anything i mentioned about UofH's passing...i am thinking that i have been a bit jaded by the Chronicle's small amount of coverage.

i do like briles as a coach if that is worth anything. i agree that MSU is the right side here. good luck with the play
