2-0 mlb playoffs. been watchin more than betting. just some phenomenal games. im takin a shot here because i think theres a lot of value in it.

1 unit......oakland (-1.5) (+304) over boston
a couple reasons. in recent game 5's, oakland has both scored and given up some runs, even with good pitchers going on both teams in past yrs. before this year, i was never a big "ump follower" but joyce's numbers clearly indicate that he is a NOT a pitchers umpire (i think stat was 20-7 for the over in his games this year. with 28 games, thats a reasonable enough sample size to take note of a 75%/25% trend). oakland has beaten boston twice this year when pedro was on the hill (one loss, one no-dec that oak won) and a's have scored 3 and 4 runs off him- which is more than most get against petey. so i dont think oakland feels he's untouchable. dont get me wrong, pedro has been nails for the most part in postseason (as a clevelander, i can vividly remember his "from the bullpen" domination in game 5 of the division series in 1999). both these teams are fighting to avoid their respective curses (bambino for bosox, 4 straight yrs of gm 5 losses for the a's). i think this one will have a little more scoring than we expect, and i think the a's can win a 5-3 kind of game. reasonable +300 shot in my opinion

I posted this in another thread. Greg Gibson is supposed to be the ump in tonight's game.

gsp:

thanks for the heads up. this play is based on a handful of things. woulda liked to see joyce behind the plate, but i still think a's can hit pedro a little bit and push across 3 or 4 on him. but thank you for your info.
