Round 1 play (1pt):

Nick Dougherty to beat Francesco Molinari -110 @ The Greek [also available @ William Hill]
The course is wet and playing long, so that shouldn't really suit the short-hitting Molinari who is making his course debut. Dougherty is particularly good off the tee and is coming off top-15 finishes in both his last two finishes and in his last visit to this course.

Outrights:

Soren Kjeldsen(33/1) e.w.
Peter Lawrie(66/1) e.w.
Nick Dougherty(50/1) e.w.
Jose Maria Olazabal(80/1) e.w.
Peter Hanson(25/1) e.w.
Kenneth Ferrie(250/1) e.w.

- - Looks like a rare spot for me to maybe be right on Kjeldsen, whom I've always thought should take it to up at least a notch . . . Demanding driving that might even be rewarded in a bit of an early slog is right up Pe.Lawrie's alley . . . Dougherty is comfortable like an old shoe, and he's moving on a good track IMO, even though the patient judgment apparently required for this track seems a challenging fit . . . Went looking for Spaniards and outsiders, and saw angles worth the price on Olazabal, and more interesting than chagrined over landing with with his whole threesome over the first 36 holes . . . Hanson is at least better value and a better play than what I knew as a stupid wager on Tim Clark at 33/1 last week . . . And in my perfunctory search for an outsider, I never considered Ferrie, but immediately grasped the potential upon being steered that way by somone else's more diligent searching, and he seems far more intriguing than merely a value loser.

4th round at 5 dimes:

Kjeldsen +115 over Drysdale/Forsyth

do not especially like playing guy who just shot 62 but if it loses it means one of these other guys are going to push him for the title which I don't think is going to happen
