Opening Day Plays

I think there will be alot of sloppy games the first week of the season. Mistakes, plenty of PP's, goals will be up before teams get locked into their systems. Teams with new HC's could struggle out of the gate without any pre-season games. Edm., Cal and MTL have new HC's off the top of my head, I will post others after.....but lots to think about when capping.

All games that I post are OT included. I will be back throughout the day and night posting alot of hockey plays.

I don't know much about hockey, dabbled last year and did pretty good. Was trying to figure out over/unders. At first I was thinking about the sloppy play and was leaning with going with a bunch of overs. However, I got to thinking the offense will be sloppy and it may be hard to score. Especially if goalies have played elsewhere while the lockout has been going on. Defense is important but feel like its a little quicker to mesh as far as team play goes.

Does that make any sense? I would like to see what you have in response to that.. I could be completely wrong.

There are only a few teams that have goalies who played in the AHL or overseas. So overall, I would say the goalies arent ahead of the shooters sort of thing. I think there will be plenty of defensive breakdowns. It shows today. In the Sens game, so many crossbars and posts, that game should be far higher scoring than it is now. I hope that helps! Canes are one of my darkhorses in the East to surprise and make some noise. It all starts down the middle and having the Staal brothers now, will help a ton!!

If you can grab the Sens live play now, go for it. Sens really finished the 1st period strong and have controlled the play in the 2nd period big time! I should have played them for the game.

We are talking about a team in Ottawa that had the most players who played in the AHL and overseas during the lockout compared to the Jets who had the least amount of players that played during the lockout.

Hope some of you hit this live play! That 3rd period was total domination by Ottawa.

I really like Dallas here. Yotes lost some key players from last years run. Losing vets like Whitney and Rosival will hurt this group. Torres is suspended for 8 games to start the year going back to his hit on Hossa in the playoffs. Dallas is a very good home team and a young team on the rise!

When you lose the heart and soul of your team like the Devils did in Parise, I really think this Devils team will get out of the gates slow. Making Bryce Salvador captain was an odd choice, he is popular in the room but I dont get it. All that being said, Isles played well at home last year and their young team is starting to believe in one another.
