interesting games you picked there, sun...i also would lean to arkansas.

i haven't really looked yet, but don't you think that is a lot of points for minn. to lay on the road to kent st. ?

i think that i read that kent st. is returning 19 starters, while minn. lost 2 very good offensive linemen & have young running backs (?).

that bowling green/wisky game is intriguing in week one. while its not a campus game for bg, it should be a very pro-bowling green crowd in cleveland, considering both the promiximity and alumni base. i would concur with sun's initial lean on this one but i have to admit to having flashbacks to last years season opener when wisky ran the ball right at bg's defensive line and the falcons were helpless. of course, no calhoun this year to worry about. but no jacobs leading the way for bg either. one that really stands out is kent state in week one. im putting myself out there by saying they will be the most improved team in the conference this season. injuries and eligibility issues absolutely decimated them last year. but they have a lot of talent at the offensive skill positions and theres no reason they can make a big jump in the eastern side of that conf.

BC has treated me very well week one in the past, line is not typically so high for them as road chalk but they are always well prepared for their first game.

gman, you are yet another that is forecasting good things for Kent St. I will keep this in mind....good post.

I don't know what Minny's RB Russell's status is right now. Does anyone have a clue?

I would def. give a look at CMU, even w/ the loss of Smith.

Looking at those Thursday games, and Toledo caught my eye. Getting 6 against Iowa State. The Rockets always play teams from bigger conferences tough. Just ask Penn State. In fact, it seems like all of the MAC teams compete extremely well against the bigger conferences. I'm not sure if Toledo can pull the straight up win, but 6 seems like a lot of points. I will keep my eye on this one between now and then! Thanks for posting these lines AR182.

Love BYU getting 7 against U of A. I don't think many people know how good BYU's offense is going to be.

And U of A shouldn't be laying that many points, especially in the first game of the season. I'll let "Tui" beat me.

Love Northern Ill
Love Vandy..
Plan has always grab alot of points early in the season till Vegas figures out how good teams are....
Most lines are based on last season and public perception...
Penn st isnt 30 points better than Vandy Ditto North Ill

I like BYU+ versus Zona. Mormons are a very unorthodox team, hard to prepare for. Think this one goes to the wire.

this is a key game in terms of building confidence, finally winning, and positiong themselves for a bowl game.....with lsu and usc coming up in the next 2 weeks i think you will see a team totally focused on byu.....

the arizona defense is going to be real good this year as long as they stay healthy (not much depth yet and what depth they have is young)....barring major fall camp injuries this should be the healthiest they will be all year long and wouldnt be shocked to see arizona hold byu to less than 20 while putting up 27+

it's early and 7 is a big number (was hoping for a 4 point line) but i'd still lay it vs byu

With you Hokie with Vandy, penn st. is good, but 30 points is so much chalk for a team that is not proven yet.

I wondered if anybody here had a writeup about Tenn, i heard many last season saying they would be dynamite this season that they just lost their young heads last season. If they arent very good Cal will take them easily because they will be very good.

The only unique thing i can add so far is i love the USC under 471/2, althoguh i will wait for last seasons money to give me 2 or 3 more points. I know ark defense is avg and their offense leaves something to be desired, but USC lost everybody on Offense last year and I dont care if you are a bluechip you are going to have to work some kinks out as a freshman. Unless SC shows me something, which i am betting they wont, i will be hammering the SC unders, with Pac teams buffin up defense with legit juco players in the offseason Wash and ASU to name a couple, i think Pac might have alil defense and SC will hve lil offense, falling much short of the 45 point games we have come to expect.
