CLEEEEAR!!

Line opened: Ravens at New England ........Patriots minus 9.5. The current line is Patriots minus 9.

QUESTION: WHAT WAS YOUR ORIGINAL GUT REACTION TO THIS LINE WHEN YOU SAW IT FOR THE 1ST TIME??? Too high? Too low?? Just right? Is Vegas trying to influence you into betting one way or the other?

THANKS!!!!

After watching the Ravens come from behind victory last week and keeping in mind the recent victories of the Ravens over the Pats, and the fact that Ravens-Pats games are always close. I don't see any conceivable way of laying 9 or more points with the Pats. So why is the line so high? Are we getting mind fucked

Right now leaning towards the Pats :0003

If anyone thinks Vegas is in business of giving away money by missing the line by as MUCH as most of the punters here think then fill your boots LOL

They are a LOT SHARPER than you all. They do not
want balanced action here. Play with the house or
you will suffer the cash depletion therein.

Ravens i'm reading a team that emotionally is drained a brutal game and a half that was lost except for a 70 yard pass play at last minute.

I said Broncos were a playoff fraud and the healthy ravens team beat them. Took them 6 quarters but they did it.

YOU saw Patriots dismantle the far better defense than Ravens or broncos posses in houston and Texans Beat both Ravens and Broncos

they hammered ravens in houston beat broncos in denver as a small road favorite won by 6 and covered.

Ravens offense is very weak only produced 1.5 yards more than all 16 foes

Patriots way up there at +40 ypg

Pats at home and playing like they are

anything less than 7 at this point and the entire world woulda been on pats....

I do believe 7 or 7.5 woulda been the best number for 50/50 action....

Why 9? I don't know....perhaps they do want baltimore money.

But then again, atl opened at 1 and they wanted sea money, and they were wrong....

Denver opened at 9 and they wanted denver money and they were wrong....

So who knows, when ya have a team on a run like this, anything can happen....ask the giants of 07 and 12....or the steelers of 06....

Tough game IMO

Line is way to high. No clue why. Somebody knows something. I just call it the Brady and Bellichick factor. Could very easily be a 40-24 game.

Line was higher than anticipated. Last week my local bumped it to 10 and my buddy and I were the only ones on Houston. People are still going to take the favorite and in this case the favorite of all favorites to take in New England. Based on the anticipated action on them my local told me he was probably going to make the line 11 or 12 and expects 90% will still take them. Good from my end as I am taking Baltimore. I disagree with an earlier post about Houston being the better defense. I have not looked at the numbers and Houston statistically may be better but have you seen them the last two months. Cincy was the only shutdown game. Even Jacksonville moved it up and down the field, just didn't put up the points. I would take Balty's healthy defense over Houston's any day of the week and yes twice on Sunday. Baltimore has already beat them once this year and just seems to match up better. Good luck either way

A lot changes in a week. Baltimore are world beaters all of a sudden.

And the public perception of Peyton Manning and the Broncos was at an all-time high, so it made a bit of sense.

New England is MUCH better than Denver, and they will paste the Ravens.

I completely agree with you! Out of nowhere my 12 year old son comes home from school yesterday and asks me why everyone thinks Baltimore is going to beat New England? New England rolls!

Denver beat crap teams all year.
Crap teams lost 5000 ft above sea level.
Baltimore is very one dimensional.
Run game is first.
Flacco deep.
Flacco went deep way too many times in Denver when they needed 2-3-4 yards.
Hoodie, McDaniels & GQ boy will be making a statement with this game.
No way Balty goes coast to coast plays 80+ mins 5000ft above sea level and goes coast to coast and recovers.
Once GQ gets it going it will be a slaughter. Faster and faster as RAY RAY & Co gasps for air by the mid 3Q. PATS in a BLOWOUT.

My first thought was how are thes pats 5 MORE points better then last year in the exact same game? (4.5 pt dogs last year) A game where if Evans holds onto the ball the Ravens win. Not to mention the pats lost Grunk one game earlier this year...either the ravens win su or it's a New England blowout. Don't think the 9 comes into play

There are some who think that the Patriots uptempo offense is just trickery. :look:

And others who think that using the word spygate adds any handicapping value.

Bet the Ravens at your own peril. And remember, this game is in New England, so we will see a repeat of the Denver game this week. Right? :welcome:

P.S. I am talking about the money line here. The spread is about right. If it were not the smart money would beat the crap out of the books.
