I bought 2 last year and I think one of them already has a dead cell in it. It will only start my jeep when it is on a battery charger. The other one in a tahoe will only work for about 3 weeks after charging. I'm just wondering If anyone here has had any similar trouble out of th:confused: is type battery.

Not really familiar with that brand but it could be other things. First your altenator, or corrrosion on your connections etc. most places will check your system free if you don't know or have the equipment to do it yourself. The batteries should be warranteed and any reputable shop should honor it.

Optima is a sealed dry cell battery. Solenoid is new and starter is working. When I turn the switch on battery goes from 12 amps to 7 amps.

My maxima was having problems like this about a year ago. At first I thought it was the battery... nope. I found out the alternator was burned up, so i put one in. That SOB burned up too.

Ended up taking it to a shop and got charged 400 to find out it was the alternator wiring harness.

thats why i should never try "fix it" w/ any kind of vehicle or electronic item.

Speaking solely on the "Marine batteries" that I have used for the last three years and are probably used much more than you're average car battery they are head and shoulders above the rest and well worth the money. I know of very few tournament pros that do not use them when given the option.
If their automobile battery division has anything in common with the marine division then they are the best.

You mean volts, not amps.

I only use Optima batteries. They are well worth the money. If you are having issues with the battery, have it checked out since they carry a 36 month free replacement warranty.

Your charging system should put out about 14.2 volts when it is working properly.

Most places that sell auto parts will hook up a guage for you at no cost. This should tell you the problem. The system itself is fairly simple. It is usually one of three things altenator, voltage regulator or battery. Provided your connections and wires are are clean and in good shape. GL
