I'm not sure how many points Purdue is going to put up against this OSU defense but I'm guessing not many. I see a double digit victory for the Buckeyes

Ohio State:30
Purdue: 13

My money is on OSU -6.5

Your thoughts?

Ank, I'm an Ohio State fan as well, but this game scares me...

Old Tiller always seems to have a few tricks up his sleeve when facing the Bucks. Couple that with the game on the road, public is now on the Buckeyes as a nat'l contender...

I'm scared, Ank, I'm scared...

If I can ignore my heart, I might be taking Purdue with the points...

Thanks for the response (and the avatar is great)

Before you take Purdue - just think about some certain things (I might get bashed but so be it)

I took a look at who Purdue has played so far and I wasn't impressed:

Toledo
Eastern Illinois
Central Michigan
Minnesota
Notre Dame

I am NOT saying that OSU has played stellar teams but Minnesota put up 31 points against Purdue and Notre Dame put up 19 (which is alot for that team in my opinion). The Buckeyes are going to score against this team. They won't score 60 but I think they can put up 30. Can Purdue put up 24 (or more) against this defense? This defense is VERY good. I'm glad that Purdue is ranked because I think it'll keep the Buckeyes focused. I agree about your comment concerning Coach Tiller. I respect the man but don't think his team has seen a defense like this. I don't see Kory Sheets putting up 100 yards which will allow the defensive line to be able to rush the QB and disrupt Painter. OSU will frustrate Painter and force him to make mistakes.

If you decide to go with Purdue and you win - I hope you had a million on 'em. :)

Best of luck and look forward to your response.

The more I handicap this game - the more I like the Buckeyes. Tressel will have the squad ready to beat the Boilermakers. This game reminds me of the 2005 matchup between the 8th ranked Buckeyes playing on the road (and at night) at 21st ranked Iowa. Drew Tate was supposed to torch the Bucks yet the Buckeyes won 31-6. I'm not saying it's going to be EXACTLY the same against Purdue and I know that the 2005 team had Troy Smith, Ginn, Gonzales, etc but the overall vibe feels the same to me. This Buckeyes defense is really gelling and think we'll see a double digit victory by the Bucks.

Look forward to anyone's reply (even if you disagree)

Good luck!

I have the Bucks finishing off the 2nd half of a 1G parlay with the Utes.

I am buying what you are selling Ank. I had this one circled as a bedrock play for Sat. I am also scared of this play. I know that Purdue could hit some breaks and cover or even win. But I am riding with the what I consider to be the best team in the big 10, and 2nd isn't really close.

Learned

Learned

I have learned to never take a team that everyone is on. I haven't seen one person taking Purdue, and many are saying they don't have a chance. You know what that means.

Best of luck Jabberwocky and good call on the UTES!

Wih all due respect - alot of people are on Purdue and some have posted that they are taking the Purdue ML. I'm not going to argue though - the line is going up so it seems that more people are on the Bucks. I think OSU wins this game by double digits but would never say that an undefeated team playing at home doesn't have a chance to win the game. Best of luck today.

I'm heading out to watch the game. This cable company decided to show the UCLA/Notre Dame game instead. I don't know.....

The hat bet is off the table since I'm taking off. :)

Thanks to everyone that responded to this thread with their thoughts on the game.

Good luck and enjoy the game.

Go Bucks!!

Purdue and Illinois are/were my biggest plays of the day. Then again, I'm the same joker that also had Ga. Tech and Sparty, so it probably doesn't mean much. That being said, I think Purdue has a great chance to win it outright. Very tough spot for OSU here...
