Before the BCS Bowls, and before the big, non-BCS Bowls that take place in the days between Christmas and New Year?s Day, there are the ?other bowls? ? and they include some great matchups this year.

It starts Tuesday with a clash between the No. 15-ranked BYU Cougars and the No. 8 Oregon State Beavers in the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl at Sam Boyd Stadium in Sin City (8:05 pm ET, ESPN).

The Beavers are 2.5-point favorites and the over/under is 58.5 in College Football Betting Odds at betED.com.

BYU (10-2 SU, 5-7 ATS) beat Mountain West conference rival Utah Utes 26-23 in the season finale for both teams in Week 13, covering as an 8.5-point road underdog.

Oregon State (8-4 SU, 7-4 ATS) lost 37-33 to the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-10 championship, as a 9.5-point underdog.

On Wednesday, 23rd-ranked Utah battles the California Golden Bears in the Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego (8:05 pm ET, ESPN).

The Golden Bears are a 3-point favorite and the over/under is 53 in NCAAF Lines.

Utah (9-3 SU, 5-7 ATS) and California (8-4 SU, 5-6 ATS) have a limited head-to-head history, having faced each other just twice since 2000.

Both teams are 1-1 SU and ATS. They last squared off on Sept. 11, 2003, when the Utes won 31-24 as a 1-point home underdog.

And on Christmas Eve, the Southern Methodist Mustangs take on the Nevada Wolf Pack in the Hawaii Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu (8:05 pm ET, ESPN).

Nevada is a 13.5-point favorite and the over/under is 73 in College Football Odds.

The Wolf Pack are 3-2 SU but just 2-3 ATS in the past five meetings. The teams last met on Nov. 13, 2004, a 38-20 SMU win.
