Below is similar to what I had to wade through in order to post the selections from each poster. With every entry it gets a little tuffer because edit screen use symbols and numbers.

This purpose of the thread was to lend a capping tool.Plain and simple an aid to all.

Problems encountered are as follows..

Only way for me to confirm selections entered on master board was to acknowledge in said post.Otherwise I had to go back to each and every post to make sure I had not missed their selections. My good luck reply served as a check off of data entered.

It was not my attempt to jumble the board.Just a necessary evil.

Scanning through similar edit sheet as seen below is a maze that required rotation numbers for easier recognition of game to enter cappers selection.

Owning my own landscaping business means that winter is my down time.Lotta time for me to kill so no better way than try to help find winners for all concerned.

Every one is invited to respond here in this thread as to the next course of action and surely that includes Jack and IE.

Only solution I can think of is for those who want to participate is to cut and paste their selections in the "Our Gang" thread and I will do my best from there. This means rotation numbers and post that I can read. This will eliminate clutter on the board and envolve only those who care to contribute.

If best to forget the whole idea ..fine ..I will take no offense. The purpose was a capping aide with a little character and some fun and trivia thrown in.

Responses in this thread will provide the answer for continuation tomorrow or dumpster today.

:) good luck to all.

I think that most of the people on here have appreciated the collection of data. I thought your system was good with the :) and the rotation numbers. Those seem to be key to make it easier for you. I would maybe suggest that you only post the plays that have used your system of the rotation numbers to avoid including anyone that may not want to be part of "our gang". Looks like alot of work either way and anyone that doesn't want to be included can post w/o rotation numbers.

I for one have appreciated your "our gang" thread and thank you for your work.

good luck

I look at it every day-I just need to remember to put in the rotation number-hard habit to get into. I realize it is a lot of work (doing totals on Sat games is a bitch-a ton of work and thinking about skipping Sat from now on?) I say youk do hte work you decide if it is worth it.

thanks for helping out at madjacks Old School.

why not start a daily thread called

"Our Gang Tracking Thread"

if players want to help out and be tracked for that days games they post their picks in the designated thread...and you add them up once before the games start.

or something along that line.

just a thought.

OS,
I appreciate the work that went into this idea. On another web site a few years the same concept was developed. Unfortunately, it simply became a summary of that day's posts and provided no real value. Anyone who posted was included in the summary without placing any value on their handicapping expertise, so sometimes it appeared the board had reached consensus on a side or total when there were a ton of cappers (and maybe some first time/last time posters) on one side. This can really skew the distribution.

For example, maybe ten or twelve cappers were on the over in a certain game but Spang and Hawkeye liked the under. The summary gave the appearance that the over was the play. Anyone reading the thread would have to know how strong Spang and Hawkeye are as handicappers to know which side to play.

Just my $.02.
