Although major showdown games with BCS positioning on the line will obviously showcase the value of emotion in college football, from a handicapping perspective it can matter much more in what appears to be an out of the way affair here. And it all favors the Ole Miss Rebels. The emotion comes from two areas ? the first home game under Louisiana native Ed Orgeron, and also the first time at home since the tragic consequences of Hurricane Katrina from the region. The second is that the Mississippi players remember well a bitter 37-32 loss at Laramie last season, when they showed up flat for an opponent that they did not respect and ended up paying the price. And then there is the flip side. The Cowboys will enter this one drained off of that crucial Mountain West win at Air Force last week, and with the conference home opener up next week, there is just nothing to inspire them in this long trip (especially since there is also not any novelty, having already traveled to Florida to get whipped by the Gators three weeks ago). Those emotional advantages not only open the door for the Rebels to win, but to also win big, as even in losing on the road last year the talent gap was evident. Mississippi physically controlled that one to the tune of +11 in first downs and +170 yards of total offense, but a lack of concentration led to five turnovers, and many of them found their way to the scoreboard. No such problem as the fiery Orgeron whips them to a frenzy here, and the disinterested Cowboys will not offer much resistance.

I'm on VT but what does this post accomplish. :mj21: . I see no point. Thanks for the info Ray riding Miss with you. If you lose its on you so do your homework and don't coattail. Buyer bewared in any situation.. I'm pissed because I have a very good buzz going and I think Ray has taken enough flak... Come on boys we are all on the same team here.
:mj14:
