I also have Windows XP. There is a program installed where you can reset your computer to an earlier date. I dont know if it will retrieve your e-mails but its worth a try. Put in the date 1 day before you deleted your e-mail and see what happens. You can always move the date back to today if it dosent work.

Maybe this is what Blazer was referring to??

if you archive your outlook mail they should be there, just import the old archive, don't know if outlook does it by default, search for *.pst on you system otherwise you are probably hosed.

Go to your "Start" in your left hand corner of your computer. Then Go to "All Programs" and the go to "Acessories" then go to "system tools" then the last thing is "system restore." This will restore your computer to the last mirror date you have. If you remember what date you received that email before deleting it, this should do it. If this doesn't work, I don't know what to do. Best of luck.

Anthony,
If you are downloading your email over the web (POP3), then you are screwed. But, if you have an Exchange Server on your LAN and you are using the IMAP protocol, you can recover the deleted items. There is a setting in Exchange Server called "Deleted Item Retention" and I think the default is 7 days. So, if you emptied your deleted items folder within 7 days ago you can recover them by using the "Recover Deleted Items" feature in Outlook like DJTranks mentioned. ;)

Chop will this delete all of the work that you have done in a workbook or spreadsheet or other software programs that you have? Or can you specify what you want to recover?

I never knew this either.

On the month and dates, it'll show you what kind of software you have "installed" and what time it was mirrored. You won't be able to choose just any day, it must be within the days that the computer created a "mirror" image of itself for such purposes as sort of a "system" recovery. I'm sorry if I'm too vague or cannot explain things very well. I am a sort of a computer novice myself and cannot go in depth as alot of the other members of the forum, so if I didn't make any sense to you, I probably couldn't say it any better. Again, best of luck.

Also, if you have restored your computer to a previous day/month, the installations or spreadsheets you have after that will be lost. Backup your stuff you want to keep before restoring. You can always go back to the same day if you don't like what you did, like bubbas1 said.
