Outrageous--------

I am hoping you have the opportunity to read this e-mail regarding the utter frustration we as English-speaking Americans experience on a daily basis. Hopefully, this will go beyond just an e-mail

This is an experience that happened to my wife today.

April 1, 2007, in Denver County Traffic Court , Denver , Colorado

She had to appear in traffic court as a result of a speeding ticket. She was speeding and knew she would have a fine to pay. We have no problem with that. The rest of the court experience, however, is something we should all stand up and take exception to and ask what is happening to the United States ?

She was asked to be in court by 4:30PM today, with which she complied. However, when she got there, it was announced that all non-English speaking persons with traffic violations would be taken care of first. The reasoning being that the interpreter leaves every day at the same time and does not stay late. So a reward for not speaking English is one gets to go the front of the line.

Next, the non-English speaking individuals do not have driver's licenses or insurance. Never was it asked why they did not have licenses, what they were doing to get licenses or insurance. What they were given for driving without a license was a $35 fine. Since many of them did not have $35 they were also given payment terms. So, they are granted another reward for not having the money to pay the fines.

My wife, who was born in Denver, Colorado, raised here, and lived here all her life, was given a $249 fine for her speeding ticket, was not given payment terms, and had to wait until all the non-english speaking, aliens were treated first.

If I understand this correctly:
* Let's never require the non -English speaking individuals who live in this country to learn English.

* Let's never require they become citizens of this United States of America .

* Let's never require them to ever get driver's licenses and pray they never kill someone on the road with their driving.

* Let's never require they get automobile insurance, so that all of us who do will pay higher and higher premiums for non-insured driver insurance.

* Let's make sure that those of us who do get injured by these individuals pay higher and higher health insurance premiums.

* Let's make sure those who can pay their fines, pay big ones to subsidize all those little $35 fines on payment plans.

* Let's make sure we never inconvenience them and let's never inconvenience the interpreters in this country who may have to work late.

Our Country is eroding every day right before our eyes. No country in the world has ever survived having 2 major languages. We are heading down that path.

Respectfully,
John DiNardo

I can't tell you how badly I would like to chime in on this...... but last time I responded to a thread with this vulnerability I was banned....so I leave it to the "regulars" to rip it apart.

Just trying to avoid this in the future>:mj17:

Do you honestly believe that this is true?

Don't believe everything you get in your email.

You're not going to get a 3.5% mortgage, a 12" dick, and you're not going to get $1 Million dollars for processing a Kenyan's inheritance.

I don't know if any of that e-mail is true or not, but I will say this, I have worked for 19 years in the NY State court system and most of the cases involving an interpreter get priority. I don't really like it, but I don't make the rules, I just follow them. Good luck to all.

I dont know if it is true or not but it makes sense to me. The wife has a job/money/license/home address/etc making her garunteed money. The others are more risky and are given alternative payment methods so that the government gets"their" money. As far as all the other stuff goes how can the government assure license/insurance/english speaking/etc when thay cant even build one of those new fangled fence thingy's:shrug:

Every "news" item forwarded via email is complete bullshit. I don't know why people post them.

Our Country is eroding every day right before our eyes. No country in the world has ever survived having 2 major languages. We are heading down that path.

It is really frustrating, but this is probably an outdated mentality. Countries where the citizens only speak ONE language are probably in more danger.

I would be SHOCKED if these immigrants grand children aren't English first speakers, and completely integrated with the rest of the country. They will want to go to college, and score with white girls, and watch MTV etc.

BUT, I will agree there is nothing wrong with applying a little pressure to encourage new arrivals to learn English; as I am sure we did in the past.

No country in the world has ever survived having 2 major languages.
China speaks Cantonese and Mandarin and they are booming.

Canada speaks English and French and are "surviving".

India speaks Hindi and English and are booming.

Switzerland speaks German, French, and Italian and have managed to exist since 1291.

Russia recognizes over 30 different regional languages.

......We BARELY acknowledge Spanish. English will always be our top language. All 1st generation immigrants struggle with the new language, but their kids and grandkids always catch on.

Italians, Polish, Chinese, etc all huddled in communities of their native language when they first arrived. Just look at the big picture and you'll see that there's nothing to fear. This is all supply and demand - it's what keeps our economy growing.

If you are white and don't like the 'browning' of America, then have more kids and make them work. Otherwise, stop complaining, adapt, and enjoy the prosperity of this country.

The translators go ahead of everyone but the people with attorneys. But the translators are paid by the state and the attorneys aren't - but the nobody bitches about the double standard for people who bring attorneys to traffic dates.

There's no way that a person without a license was allowed to leave without an extreme fine or jail.

The court date above is April Fool's day, which doesn't mean that it didn't happen, but at 4:30? A government job starting 1/2 hour before 5? And 4/1/07 was also a Sunday. The people that write these emails aren't only making them up, they're stupid.

Good stuff, Smurph.

The "no country can survive two languages" is getting as much play as the "The first thing that Hitler did was take away the citizen's guns"

It begs the question on who's more dangerous - (1)Someone who gets his news from email, or (2) someone who gets his news from a bumper sticker

I was on vacation in China a few years back, our guide spoke Mandarin and ran into a situation where she could barely converse with someone who spoke Cantonese...China's prosperity is at the expense of American jobs, PERIOD

Thank your corporations and the Gubberment for the massive give-away of our future heritage...
