I was an equipment manager for the football team at Memphis State from 1990-93.
I lived in the athletic dorm and Anfernee Hardaway lived four doors down from me.
Cullen Bryant was our RB coach. He played for Colorado back when it was the Big 8 Conference and he took the Buffs to the Orange Bowl then went on to score a TD for the Rams in the 1980 Super Bowl. Very nice man who loved his Tanqueray gin! Very sad to hear he passed away almost two years ago.
Isaac Bruce was WR during my time at MSU. He was a nice guy. Everyone knew he would be big time on the NFL stage and he did not disappoint.
I was able to meet a ton of college coaches including Gene Stallings, Johnny Majors and Bobby Bowden. My favorite though was Howard Schnellenberger. My freshman year we played at Louisville and he had his managers bring a big cooler of Coca-Cola to our locker room and he sat down and talked with us for at least 15 minutes. I always liked him because he played for Bear Bryant at Kentucky. I could have talked to him all day. Very friendly and damn funny.
I met Marv Albert during the Pacers early playoff run in 1994 (Game 6 vs. NY Knicks). I scalped a single seat two rows off of half court behind the NBC guys. He was very nice. Matt Guokas was a real prick.
I've also met several politicians including George H.W. Bush when he was V.P. (1986), Bob Dole, both Indiana Senators Dick Lugar and Dan Coats and got to play a few holes of golf with our governor Mitch Daniels.
When Agent was bartending back in the day I went up to see him one day and Derek McKey and Austin Croshiere from the Pacers were sitting at the end of the bar. Being a big 'Bama fan I was excited to meet McKey and he could not have been nicer.

It was before he was famous but I used to party with Judge Reinholdt in high school.
I also got shoved by bodyguards to keep me from touching Hulk Hogan in the Minneapois airport when I wasn't paying attention where I was walking.
I met Redd Foxx AKA John Elroy Sanford at the old MGM (now Bally's) Keno lounge.
