A couple of guys I work with are doing this, they swear it works if you follow through.

It definitely works but it's pretty brutal from what I've read. Not too crazy though about 1:15 a day. I think the difficult part is the diet but that's a big part of it-

Wife got it last week Saint. She starts tomorrow. We have all the disk and pamplets. I'm guessing we could burn the CD's. I haven't even looked at it yet, but if I can burn them, i'll be happy to do it.

I have two friends who have completed and both moved onto P90X Plus.

I started P90X about 4 weeks ago; lasted two weeks of getting my ass handed to me; missed two days due to being out of town for work; missed three days due to being laid up in bed. Then fell off the wagon. :(

Starting back on day 1 Tuesday.

It is pretty rough if you are really getting after it. I know several who have started that did not get very far (including me so far).

I am also one who was not fully ready for this type of program physically. My goal is to complete the 90 days, then be REALLY ready to do P90X in the manner that it should be.

GW, it's free. Just click on the right side where the download is. It takes some time to download it all though.

Ah, I see what you're asking. After you click on the download another window opens up. Enter the 4digit code they give you and then next click on regular member(free) and that should be it.

Thanks for the offer, I just bought it yesterday along with the necessary equipment. My wife is due next week so this may get put off but was hoping to start Monday-

I have a feeling this will be me....just wanting to get through the 1st time even if unable to do complete reps of everything and then do it again.

Saint, I did the program last year but didn't get all the way through. I made it to about day 60 but then life got in the way. The results just in that amount of time were amazing. Improved strength, stamina and weight loss. I'm not gonna lie, it is tough. A buddy of mine started at the same time and even though he lived in Texas and I am in Ohio, we lived it together. That was really a key for us, having someone to share your pain with because it really is grueling. We emailed each other daily and that was a big help. He did his early morning and I did mine late at night so he would clue me in on what I was in store for. I was not in good shape going in so you don't have to be but it helps. Just get through the first couple of weeks and you will be ok. You WILL want to quit the first week, no doubt about it.

As for the diet, I didn't stick to what they suggested. I just can't eat that way. That being said, I did improve my diet and that helped. I still ate alot of things I liked, just tried to cut back on portion sizes and things like that. It helped just doing that. I tried to cut out fast food (my weakness) and sweets. I would snack on nuts or protein bars as opposed to Little Debbies, pop tarts, potato chips and things like that.

Biggest drawback is the time constraints. You are going to spend around 1:15 6 nights a week. Unless you have nothing else going on in your life, that's tough to do. That was one of the reasons I had to stop. I coach baseball in the summer and once my season started, that was it for me. Work all day, coach in evening and then try to give time to family doesn't leave enough time for the X. I want to start again, the problem is I know what it takes and I'm not ready to commit. I have incorporated some of the workouts into a condensed exercise program but without the same results. Strength improved but no weight loss.

It won't be easy, I wish you well........keep us updated.

For those of you that are going to try this, if your main goal is to lose fat then do it in the morning when you wake up. Doing cardio in a fasted state burns more fat. It also gives you a time of day when you can wake up earlier, do your workout and not change the things your normally do.

Does anyone know what the supplements are that come with this??

There are no supplements that come with the program directly. Nutrition is a big part of it though and they do recommend some supplements like a recovery drink post workout, whey and vitamins. But none of it comes with the actual p90x program it's extra.

The main equipment you need is a pull up bar (found one that hangs on the door frame and does not need any screws), and either resistance straps or free weights. I'm debating b/w the 2 because the free wts are about 400$ for dumbells to 50lb. I just personally prefer weights to bands.

I used the bands as a substitute to the pull-up bar. For the first set of each routine, I did pull-ups but for the second set I used bands just because you can do way more reps. I never used them in place of dumbells but let me tell you, you won't be using 50's anytime soon. The most I used was 35's and that was just for a few exercises. Most of the time I used 20's and 25's and even with those, it's rough. Your arms will be jello at the end of the routine......but you will feel a great sense of satisfaction after every session. Just talking about it ALMOST makes me want to start it again. :SIB

Anyone ever seen the infomercials? I'm thinking about doing it...just don't know if I'm in good enough shape to tackle this yet-

http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/p90x.do

Thought maybe I could talk a few others into starting this. I've read nothing but good things about it if you commit to it-

Start with the P90 it is the begginners version and it still worked like a charm for me. If you do the program. Its 5 days a week for 3 months. However the workout times are fairly short between 30 and 45 minutes.

And like i said. I saw great results even with the easier version.

I am a beachbody coach and have done P90X twice currently on third time. I am almost 50 years old so it can be done. I would be more than happy to provide you with any help or info you need. You can see my results from the program and get a hold of me by going to beachbodycoach.com/franksgym
