asu -5
cal +3.5
usc -8
osu -10.5 vs wash NOPLAY
stan +10

looking for 4th straight winning week

Asu -5 vs North Carolina

ASU may have trouble heading to Chapel Hill for a game that is scheduled for 930am in there internal clocks... 1230 unc time, andASU arrives Thursday/Friday at midnight. Last year ASU played its worst game since losing to NMST several years ago, although they set a school record with most total yards, they still lost 38-35, 5 turnovers and missing 4 field goals will cause anyone to lose. Durant ran all over ASU last year and is the Tar Heels best chance to beat ASU. If ASU can contain Durant and avoid a shooout, another ASU blowout should occur. ASU -5

USC -8 at Notre Dame

USC's Matt Leinart is the real deal, this kid impresses me more and more every week. While Notre Dame will need to pass to beat USC thats not goign to happen. If Julius Jones gets half his rushing toatl from last week I will be shocked. USC covers the 8 by halftime

Stanford +10 to WSU
Getting any pac-10 team double digits at home in a conferance game to me is a no brainer. WSU is number 6??? they blew out Oregon at Autzen, thats tough to do, Colorado they blew out, who hasnt? they beat arizona,, who hasent? WSU needs to avoid a majo letdown at the Furd this weekend. Stanford upsets WSU s/u but take the 10

CAL +3.5 at UCLA
I will always take points between 2 evenly matched teams. UCLA lost at Arizona last week had the Cats not given the game away, I have been a big UCLA supporter this year, but the fact is they cant get everything going and now the defense is really banged up, Cal had a week to prepare for UCLA and they dont like UCLA. I like Cal here +3.5

NO PLAY UW/OSU- OSU got more talent than UW and UW is a mess... but I dont like lying this many points here

GL this week! I disagree of course on the USC game but Leinhart has looked good against some pretty bad teams. USC has played absolutely nobody this year and to let an unranked team that is below .500 beat you means this team is extremely vulnerable. Just my 2 cents.

Your assessment on the Cougars is bang on. All the best!

im sorry i dont think at auburn and at arizona state are nobodys. auburn was a very impressive win that demoralized that team until last week, and asu is a good team that has 3 losses to top 25 teams 2 on the road. I'd say this at AUburn, at ASU ans at Cal are as tough or tougher than at notre dame this week, the trojans can allow yards through the air to good passin teams, but will shut down running teams. notre dame couldnt pass on buffalo

good lcuk with your plays

bgold - Are you telling me that ASU and Cal are tougher places to play at than on the road at ND?????????????
You got to be kidding me! For crying out loud, ASU is a pathetic home field. They have 15,000 empty seats in the 2nd level and the fans have been dead quiet this year. I have been to two games this year and I must say I was disappointed with the ASU fans. Flat out pathetic, most of them.
What is so intimidating about playing at Cal?
Why don't you just say it, you don't like ND rather than make a crazy opinion like telling us it is tougher to play at ASU and Cal than at ND.
Auburn is tough and tougher at night at home. Noon games the crowd is not nearly as loud. I know I have been to 3 games at Auburn. I took a recruiting trip to Auburn 12 years ago for track. Bottom line, USC has played nobody. BYU and Hawaii along with Cal, ASU and Stanford. Auburn is their only quality win.
ND has played at Pitt, Michigan and Purdue. Had MSU and WSU at home.
The two schedules don't even compare.

All the best with the rest of your plays!

I dont mean to butt in but lets be serious here ND...You cant keep saying that USC hasnt played anyone. AUBURN just came off a very tough away victory at Arkansas, a very good team that beat your horns i think you will remember, which is saying as much this year as in the past. Aslo that was following a win over Tennessee. They have looked incredible lately!!! For USC to go to JordanHare in the first week of the season and get a win deserves respect.

Info posted by Scott4USC much earlier today.

USC has major injuries to their LB corps. #1 LB has sprained ankle and is game time decision and the starting MLB is still recovering from a high ankle sprain. His backup is out for the ND game with shoulder injury. This will hurt the defense even if Grootegood plays cuz he will not be 100% and he is awesome player.

Now the #1 USC tight end Dom. Byrd is OUT for the year. He in my opinion was the best pass catching tight end in the conference and was a MAJOR threat. BIG LOSS especially since our #2 tight end was already out for year and now we are starting our 3rd string (but he has experience and is 6-9 so big target.

ND- i am not saying that ASU/CAL even compare to any SEC or many other crowds especially not Notre Dame. I am saying that ASU.CAL are as tough to play if not tougher than Notre Dame because of the talent on the field. I do not think USC really cares where they play because playing at Auburn is about as tough as they can get. USC showed no signs of playing scared

garden- coach teevens on edwards who is listed as the number 1 qb on his depth chart as of today:
Trent Edwards continues to progress. He's a redshirt freshman, so each time he sees a different or an accelerated group he's going to learn something from it. He's been very strong mentally, not frustrated or distracted. He continues to execute and makes good plays and decisions. At times there's things he'd like to have back, but I feel like he's progressing. We're going to push him to practice well, and given the situation, we're going to give him the opportunity to play, which we did."

ND- 96 season at ASU was the loudest I ever heard any stadium ever get especially the USC game that year. I have wished to get that atmosphere back one day, but unfortunatley it will take 2 straight 9 win seasons to get 70,000 a game again

Thats what I love about Big-10,Sec, Big 12 football is they get crowds and a real home field advantage, really the oregon schools and washington state have real home field advantages in football out west

nd- you also have to consider asu got 60,000 for its opener vs a 1aa oponnent for a night game. Thats what they got for USC at 1230 local time.. any 1230 game in aizona in october wont draw... its too hot out there!!!

right now there is 1 program on the west coast who gets any player they want: USC!
at every position they are 3 deep, yes i said 3 deep! i don't mean a scrub back-up, i'm talking blue-chipper... read yesterday that they are thinking of putting a top 100 recruit (back-up qb.) at 3rd string t.e. so i wouldn't worry about depth with this team.
n.d. is good but lacks a quality qb. till they get one you cannot expect them to compete with any elite team.

USC has depth issues at tight end (lost 1st and 2nd stringers) and LB's not much depth (especially since blue chip recruit drowned this year). DB's and maybe OL are also a concern for next year.

But your right, USC does not recruit they select. Pete Carroll is amazing recruiter and in couple years USC seriously will have blue chip recruits as 2nd stringers. I think around 10-12 of the top 100 players in nation already gave USC a silent verbal or have USC in top 2 schools. Simply amazing. Poor Bruins.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott- I read that Greg Guenther is goign to be the starting tight end this week and I dont think that is a weekness that is a big dude, and he hit some big free throws to sink my team last year at the sports arena!

Your right, Greg Guenther is prob. the best 3rd string tight end in the country but my problem with him is what he does after the catch. Byrd was fast and got many yards after the catch and stretched defenses. Guenther is servicable and will catch the ball but then get tackled. The plus with him is he is size. However, he might be a better run blocker than Byrd.
