FOX Sports preseason poll top 25 for 2005-06:

SEC TEAMS = 6
pac 10 = 3 (with Cal bringing up the rear at #25)

FYI, 3 teams of the SEC's 6 are in the top 10! (Tenn, LSU, Fla) :mj04:

bgold13, I guess you thought Georgia Tech was in the SEC? Because that's who Auburn plays in their season opener this fall. The same way we had them and Bowling Green on our schedule for last year until they opted out of their agreements.

Again this year, Auburn is not playing Southern Miss. because they have opted out of their contract. It is difficult to find decent teams that are not afraid to come play at Jordan-Hare.

If I am having a bad day gambling, I assure you, I will be awake and watching the Hawaii game!!!

gtech
western kentucky (d2 of course)
ball state

I really can't understand why you have such a hard on for Auburn, gjn23. Auburn has had more schools cancel games in the past 2 seasons than anyone else (4). Let's not forget that AU won 5 games out of 13 against top 20 teams. All we can do is win.

Western Kentucky and Ball State were both replacement games and there are just not a bunch of teams in BCS conferences that want to play Auburn.

And when I am comparing the Pac-10 to the SEC, I love the way all you can talk about is USC, not the whole conference. USC is an extraordinary program (maybe the best of this decade), but the rest of the conference is soft like a twinkie. Oregon State is the only other decent program IMO. You sure do talk a lot for being an Arizona fan. You may need to stick with the hoops forum. Your Wildcats biggest national exposure in the past 10 years came from Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in Speed.

next time i see auburn win a natnl title will be the first time i see them win a title

i could care less about auburn, there schedule is and always is a joke...much like every other team in the sec

as far as the pac-10 goes; oregon state, the only other decent program? you're ignorance is showing

since 98, EVERY team in the pac-10 has has a 10 win season....that's 100%.....how's the sec compare?

Arizona's 2005 OOC:

Utah (non-bcs)
Northern Arizona (d2)
Purdue

uh oh!!!!! Looks like Auburn is not the only team only playing 1 BCS school in our OOC. The only difference is we will win our 3 games, AZ will hopefully go 2/3. Let the big boys talk about the big schools ok? MR. 3-8 with a soft schedule.

Hope Stoops is recruiting hard for you guys...

Since 98, most BCS bowl wins:

#1 = SEC

If pac-10 teams have 10 win season, it is only because the rest of the conference is so pathetic!!!

Since 98, how many 10 win seasons have SEC teams had compared to Pac-10? Last year:

SEC = 3
Pac-10 = 2

I don't think you're gonna like the answer gjn23...

You can pick and choose your stats you want to use for argument, but when you look at the complete body of work, the big picture, the SEC is the dominant conference.

Next...

nice job in NOT answering the question.....i said SINCE 1998 EVERY PAC-10 SCHOOL HAS A 10 WIN SEASON, THAT's 100% OF THE CONF....how many sec schools have 10 win seasons in that time? my guess is there are at least 3-4 sec schools w/o a 10 win season since 98 (kent, vandy, miss st, miss, bama-?) which is the main point, you have constant losers in that conf who are NEVER good.

as far as arizona goes....purdue, utah, lsu, penn st, ohio state, wisconsn, ill, ga tech...all non conf games (most on the road) in the past few years....and our program sucks, we should be scheduling la monroe, citdael, and la lafy!

the point is, auburn has no room to complain about missing the bcs game last year when your occ schedule was horrible (and usually is) and other bcs teams went undefeated with better occ games.

BTW, sorry about that Illinois game. It has to bother you being the biggest choke job of the NCAA tournament. I understand your aggression. At least Scott has USC to talk about.

The SEC has more 10 win seasons than the Pac-10. End of story. So what, if every team has a 10 win season, it is only because they beat up on the rest of the teams in a tired-ass conference. The SEC has the most wins, BCS bowl wins, National Championships, etc. etc...

Get over it Sandra Bullock...
