Where it is real F ing COLD
Big difference between Green Bay and big cities. Packers rely on people coming from all over the state. People plan their trips months in advance. I'll give the Packer fans some breaks, after Thanksgiving nobody thought they had a chance in hell for playoffs so not many outsiders planned the time for playoffs, plus the accommodations suck, trying to find a hotel is the hotels make you book for two nights there.

Yes poolplayer, the Packers have a ton of fair weather fans just like anybody else, I know a bunch of them who used to root for Niners, Cowboys, an Steelers. The main die hards are dying off, be interesting to see what happens with the current 20 - 30 year olds if team went into a couple year funk. They only know of a winner having two dominant QBs, they might not take losing for a few years to well

exactly. They may be the "Green Bay" Packers and the "Milwaukee" Brewers, but the teams must market--and draw fans--from all over the state to fill their stadiums. 120,000 people in Green Bay and a 65,000 seat stadium. You think that half the town is going to the games? Not happening at all.
Iowa Hawkeye football is the same way.
Iowa City area population is 140,000--Kinnick Stadium holds 72,000. People travel from all over the state--and neighboring states--the Chicago area and its huge alumni base are only 4 hrs from Iowa City.
