I understand Mr Hinds may looking to move to a place near and dear to me.

Las Vegas?

Last I heard was Hinds going to UNLV. Carroll was really upset with UNLV coaches. They kept whispering in Hinds ear to come play/start for them instead of riding bench at USC. They also were talking to USC's 3rd/4th string RB too. So when Hinds did ask to leave Carroll was ok with it for any school but he wouldn't sign his release to UNLV. But then changed his mind. Carroll did this as warning to UNLV coaches not to talk to a USC player again while he is playing for USC.

Hinds is very good QB and I was impressed with him in Spring huddle. I think it was good move for him to transfer because Booty is better and Sanchez is better as well. Plus USC will prob. sign next years #1 QB in country Jimmy Clausen. Then again, USC's career backup (Cassell) was drafted in 7th round to Patriots and just signed a 4 year deal. He threw 35 passes in his career at USC and never started a game. Says a lot about the program Carroll is running and Pats just gave Carroll recruiting ammo!

Wherever Hinds ends up, (but I think it is UNLV), they will be getting a very talented (but raw) QB.

It wont be UNLV supposedly. USC wont release him to go there per my information. But maybe it is out of date. Apparently he is planning a trip to visit Austin

As another FWIW, apparently Vince Young has spent significant time in Tennessee this year supposedly doing some work with Norm Chow. I am told his passing is night and day from last year.

Carroll signed Hinds release to play at UNLV but gave UNLV coaches a last warning about talking to his players. Whether Hinds had change of heart I don't know. But I think he is headed to UNLV. I was hoping all along Hinds would compete at QB for USC, and when he lost it to Booty he would switch positions. Hinds is a great athlete and could make it to the NFL as TE, LB, Safety or WR. I guess he is set on playing QB and he is a good at QB but raw. If I was him, I would transfer to V-Tech who would run perfect offense for him.

SMART MOVE by Vince Young.

Why would Chow work with Young? Doesn't make sense to me. What does Chow have to gain? Does Chow want to cost USC a 3rd NC if Texas plays USC in the Rose Bowl? Obviously if Young can make himself a legit passing threat, Texas will be dangerous. For the most part, mobile QB's in the Pete Carroll era have done damage against USC's defense. But I have to see it to believe it. Right now Young is not a QB IMO, just an exceptional athlete playing QB.

...nope, he's coming to ole Rocky Top just like his 2 older brothers. ;)

My money is on USC. He hangs out at USC all the time and plays catch with Pete Carroll after practices. Already has good relationship. His family prob. prefers him him close to home. His older brother I think would have signed with USC if Hacket recruited him harder. Hacket chose another QB (Cassel) who never started for USC but ended up getting drafted and signing NFL contract. USC prob. won't take a QB this year and USC just had a QB leave the team. Doesn't Clausen have winning National Championships high on his priority list?

Jimmy Clausen I think will be the #1 QB in high school next year. Def. top 3.

Keep me updated on Hinds. I def. will want to see how he turns out as a QB. Could be a good one. Texas would be great choice for him if they are short handed on QB's after Young.
