Carolina Panthers player Chris Terry was released on bond from a Mecklenburg jail Thursday after being arrested on a domestic violence charge.

Terry, after spending Wednesday night at Jail Central uptown, appeared before a judge Thursday morning. He was released about 1 p.m. after posting a $2,500 bond.

Terry, 26, is charged with assault on a female. He is accused of pushing his wife, NyQuell Jackson-Terry, against a wall Wednesday during an argument. Police were called to the couple's south Charlotte home about 6:30 p.m. According to a police report, Jackson-Terry said the push made her hit her back against a wall

What's up with all these pro athletes getting arrested for domestic violence in the last month or so? This is getting sad.
