I completely agree the only problem is by opening up this thread you allow Scott the chance to cut and paste all his stupid homer crap and come up with some stupid remark talking about out of conference play. I think its funny how he talks about USC winning in a rebuilding year. How is is a rebuilding year when you have a soph qb; 2 very good wr; a veteran offensive line and stout defense; he acts like they were playing with all freshman. You look at LSU and they were younger than USC I just wish mj would just ban his a**; i wont even look forward to next year knowing his stupid homer crap is going to be at mj. I saw him bashing hoops on one thread. Hoops has more knowledge in one finger in handicapping than Scott has in his whole homer body; he is a joke and i think everyone knows it

Outstanding! My favorite part is the side by side strength of schedule analysis. USC - unranked, unranked, unranked, unranked. :lol: Yet another reason why USC has to schedule tougher OOC opponents. Because they know they have absolutely NO SHOT at the national title game without them, even if they won out!

Bottom line: USC has had a great season, better than most, but not better than LSU. The system may be imperfect, and screams louder than ever for a playoff, but the system was created in part to eliminate human voting bias and match up the two most deserving teams in a national championship. Oklahoma and LSU were those two teams, and the winner of the Nokia Sugar Bowl - LSU - deserves the national championship, in full.

No wonder you all want to eliminate the "human bias" from the national championship. The human polls told us that LSU was better than OU, before the bowl games. The humans were right!
All the computers, stats & rankings told us that OU was better than LSU! They got it wrong!
After I read that piece, all I really got from those stats is that OU was a better team than LSU or USC. But no humans really think that anymore. Do they?
After the bowl games, I'm sure the stats still say OU is better than LSU or USC! And that is the major flaw in trying to justify anything using statistics, rankings, etc., etc..
A schedule is a progression, not a collection of separate opponents. Let's look at the two teams schedules week by week:

Seven of the 14 wks USC played a tougher opponent than LSU. Only 4 wks in the season did LSU play a better opponent than USC faced, & that's w the benefit of a bye week for USC! And before you guys go haywire! The reason for the Wk4 push is that Georgia was decimated by injuries & on the road at the time. Two things the computers dont measure. Cal, on the other hand, was at home & healthy for that week. The reason for the Wk8 push, was in your article. Auburn was overrated, & SC was again on the road v an underachieving UW team. The reason for the Wk12 push is both Ark & OSU got crushed away from home. Maybe that's why the humans discounted all those gaudy statistics LSU was able to put up.
The humans have voted gentlemen! USC #1! Now get back on your playstations boys and figure out who's gonna win the Big Dance.

Many teams did not play the National Championship game, it's a fact of life. All the BCS crap just started because of whiners and malcontents and the poll system which is ridicuous. The writers are majorly clueless about who's better than who. Hell, they couldn't pick a game straight up if their life depended on it. And the coches, hell, what games do they watch?
Were it the other way around I would have complained maybe a little and left it at that, but some of you are ridiculously childish and spoiled. Just leave it alone and recognize and accept. It was a bad break but chit happens. USC will have a chance next year, especially since they are only in a rebuilding year. But This year there was a GAME FOR THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. It was called the SUGAR BOWL.
I really don't give a damn about anybody posting who is the better team and what not, that's good ole fashion competition. But it is a FACT that LSU is the College Footbal NATIONAL CHAMPION. There is no delusional about that and I take exception to such comments. We ain't sharing with nobody who "placed" first on somepoll (especially of writers), which is a fraction of the total components deciding the overall championship. And that is the truth.
So, Suck it up and stop your whining. Let it go at that.
