I congratulate LSU winning the BCS National Championship. Very good. It is kind of sad that "most" people do not recognize them as the #1 team in the country. Both teams won the NC, simple as that.

I notice on those images they say USC won an AP Title, don't see National Champions pasted all over.

There is no true champion in college football because there is no trophy presented by the NCAA because there is no playoff.
There has never, repeat, NEVER been a true champion because there has never been a playoff.
Since people like the idea of a champion, hundreds (see link) of organizations over the years have crowned a champion based on their own criteria.
Since the mid 50's the two out of that gaggle that have become most prominent are the Coach's and the Sports Writer's.
Nothing.... NOTHING..... that has happened with the BCS over the last 6 years has done anything to change this. When THE TWO agree we have a CONSENSUS MYTHICAL CHAMPION. They did not this year so we have SPLIT MYTHICAL CHAMPIONS.
Bottom line is its MYTHICAL.... there is no there there! Quit bitchin' about something that doesn't exist!

i dont understand how the coaches 'were forced' to vote for LSU. nobody had a gun to their head....and if you turn around and say the had a obligation to vote for them, well yea duh, the coaches wanted the BCS

And another point - I think that many of the AP voters deliberately voted for a team that went against the BCS stats. Its no secret that EVERYONE wants a playoff system and I'm sure that PLENTY of voters jumped at the chance to tarnish the BCS.
