Anybody else play there? You can download their free game thing - and you can play a vareity of games against other people all over the world --- for free! :D You can also play for real money.

If you all know about this, then great - hope to see you there. Iam under hellah10. I usually play around this time.

I play online all the time. I've played professional poker for over 9 years now, and in the last 2 years gone less and less frequently to the casinos. I've grown to love online poker because of the speed and ease. If you need any info or are have any questions, I can give you the name of the top 5 or 6 online places to play dependent upon what you are looking for, i.e., stakes, games, traffic. Let me know, love to help after coatailing you and the chipewas all year. Damn, that last performance sucked, didnt it?

Care to elaborate?

I've played there for 4 years. I've always been paid promptly and I've always found a game to join. The software is easy to install and use.

That's all I care about, and that's more than can be said about a lot of other sites.

Haven't played there for a while, but used to play there on a regular basis.

Nolan....I'm curious as well on your findings. Reason I say that is because, I can honestly say I've had winning days and losing days, but in the long haul I've lost......EXCEPT playing the tournies! I've played a ton of tournaments there and have cashed consistently time in and time out. Won't play anything but the tournaments there if I ever decide to play again, but I'm curious if you've played any of these or if your negative comments are from playing at the regular games...in which case I will probably agree with ya...to stay away.

Nolan, I wish that you would elaborate a little...and if you wouldn't play there, where would you play on-line, if at all? I currently have accounts at Paradise, PartyPoker and PlanetPoker...are these not safe accounts? Thanks for all that you do around here.

I've been playing at Paradise for about 2 years. I have increased my bankroll by 50% in that time. I don't play a lot and would not consider myself an above average poker player. I, like ndnfan, have had much better results in the tournaments.

Nolan--I wold like to know why you say such things about it. If I may guess, I will say that you are probably a VERY good live-game poker player and because of the different style of the on-line game, you have a bad taste for it. I am only guessing, though. If it is a business that will steal our money, I ask that you expand on your dealings with them.

Thanks for the help.

when you open the program, you`ll enter the "lobby"

pick your game - and look at tables. They are usually called "Play Money" and the Avg Pot is usually just a number, rather then a $number.

Not speaking for Nolan, but I agree because I have been told they set the cards to keep several players in the hand as to raise the rake to the highest dollar possible. I have no proof of this, but again I have heard it from several people and have seen some incredible hands get beat over and over again including 4 of a kind and a straight flush, now I understand that those things happen, but with all too much frequency 2 pair, 3 of a kind and flushes get beat by the next best hand. If you play poker for real you will see this happen, but not with near the frequency it happens at Paradise Poker, not even close.

What penguinfan wrote has been claimed by people for years at internet poker discussion sites. No one has yet listed hand histories that demonstrate it to be true.

On the other hand, histories have been analyzed that show expected distibutions of hands and boards.

And yes, it is in my interest to defend paradise poker because I play there and want others to play there. I don't think claims like penguinfans should be listed about them or any other site. If what he says is true, to prove it is simple, but has never been done.

because hands go by so quickly, i think it can seem like there are many more bad beats and strange occurrences....

my biggest concern is collusion....i think the tourneys are much safer....not really worhwhile to collude in them -- at least the 10$/20$ tourneys

Just wanted to clarify something a little. Collusion I'm sure goes on, and I still beat the games, but am not gonna argue cheating goes on. Hell, there probably are even hackers that can break the program. I suggest getting a good firewall before playing.

On the point of hand fixing to make sure the rake gets to the max, I don't see any benefit from it in my games. I play 15/30 and 20/40, and if you see the flop, the max rake is going to get there anyway.

Just my 2 cents

One of the problems with Paradise that I have seen in the past is that if someone reports you for possible cheating, or collusion.

Paradise will freeze and suspend your account indefinitely.

No questions asked. They do it. You can't get your buy in back, you cant get your profits back.

All it takes is someone to email them and tell them your handle and that you were colluding with "playerX" and its frozen. case closed.

Then its up to YOU to prove your innocence.

collusion is when you and another player are at the same table and also on your cell phone/IM whatever mode of communication you want,
and telling each other your hands and re-raising each other while trapping other players in.

one player has the nuts and bets and the other player with trash is raising it to get more money in the pot from other players.
