BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!
My book pays 12/5 on 2 teamers, and 5 to 1 on 3...(local). Does anyone know of a parlay calculator out there that I could use. Or, can anyone explain the calculations needed (factors) in order to compute BB moneyline parlays with these odds...

Thanks in advance fellas.

not trying at all to take a jab, but:

parlays are sucker bets to begin with.
but thats not my point.

if youre gonna play parlays, at least get the correct odds on the sucker bets.

12/5 should be 13/5 on a two teamer
and 5/1 should be 6/1 on a three teamer

no if, ands, or buts about it. i could be wrong, but most locals will give you those odds if you simply ask them. if he declines (which isnt likely), tell him youll take your business elsewhere. theres so many outs and shops nowadays that theres no reason to have the deck stacked against you before you even make a bet

as far as a parlay calculator, there are a handful of sites that have them, but as far as im aware we cant post outside links to other sites here. so perhaps someone knows a way around it

Listen... I appreciate the response...but I don't need a hundred guys in here telling me that online books pay 13 or 14 to 5...I know that. I want a parlay calculator or a math man to inform me of the calculation. That's it. And thank you in advance.

As an aside...how many locals have you bet with GMAN? My guess is zero. 12/5 is standard with a local. Believe me..Jack won't give a shit if you tell me where a parlay calculator is...

heres what i dont get. you post a question. someone posts and answer to try and HELP you. and you proceed to tear said person a new azz.

boy, glad i took the time to try and help you out. youre a real class guy. jeez.

i dont bet many two teamers- so i cant tell you what is "standard", but 3 team parlays are 6/1 at every local ive ever played at.

sorry for trying to help

Hmmmm...

Please direct me to the "helpful" part of your replys... Besides the priceless advice. I know there are "websites"...etc. I want to know where. Nevermind.....

Your Answer=Your book is screwing you...and there are websites that have them...

I'm sorry I didn't recognize the value in that response. Forgive me, I apologize.

dude, if you want to play into a book that is stacking the deck against you, just so you can have action- then by all means donate your money to him. to each his own. i really mean that.
hell, im sure youll be playing your 3-teamers tomorrow at 5/1 and the book is salivating waiting to take your call.

all im trying to say is that as a fellow gambler- we're in this together, and i dont like to see guys donate money to books unnecessarily.

take it easy man.

12/5 on two teamers and 5/1 on three teamers? My local uses the exact same thing. If Pierre wasn't 2.5 hours from Mitchell, I would think we're using the same guy....

Anyway, there is a link at the top of the page for parlay calculators. Good luck...

Ironlock, My local has always been 12/5 and 5/1 also, one other local is 11/5 on football, go figure. Anyway that link above only figures them at 13/5 if I am correct and I think I know what you are asking and I will get the formula from my guy today and post it for you, it must be fairly simple math because my guy ain't too bright, then again I'm the one calling him from my day job while he is at home, hmmm......

When I lived in Philly, all of my bookies used this formula for -110 parlay bets:

Divide by 3 and multiply times 7.

$24 paid $56 ....should be $63.47
$30 paid $70.....Should be $79.33

Talk about a ripoff.

Not sure if I am answering your question correctly, but here is how I compute my parlays when I dont have a parlay calculator around.

If one of the teams in your parlay is a favorite (say -200), then compute 100/200 = 0.50. Your return on $1 would be $1.50.

If one of your teams is an underdog (say +200), then your return on $1 would be $3.00.

If you want to know your return on $1 for those two teams, simply multiply $1.50 x $3.00 = $4.50.

So in essence, you are getting 3.5 - to - 1 odds (7:2) and are getting a return of $4.50 for every dollar wagered.

If you were playing a 3-team parlay and the teams were listed at +120, -150, -200, then compute the 3 factors as above with your answer in "return dollars".

+120 dog $1 returns 2.20.
-150 fav. 100/150 = 0.67 return 1.67
-200 fav 100/200 = 0.50 returns 1.50.

Multiply 2.20 x 1.67 x 1.50 to get your return on that parlay for each $1 wagered. You just need to subtract the initial $1 off that answer to get your odds.

easiest way to come up with parlay odds is use decimal odds....that way you can see if your book (or bookie is screwing you)

For example...........if say your betting on three NFL point spreads:

Seattle -3.5
Tampa Bay -14.5
Oakland -2.5

as we know NFL point spreads are almost always -110 which works out to $1.91 in decimal format.

so common sense will tell you that to pick three outcomes your odds should be $6.97 (1.91 x 1.91 x 1.91)

now if you get better odds then that then whoaa baby.....take it....if ya get less then perhaps should take business else where.

so if ya bet 100 bucks on the parlay you should get no worse then $697.00 back (profit of $597.00)

so no matter what the sport using the decimal format should tell you what parlay odds you deserve..........take baseball for example:

say you had:

Twins ML -200 ($1.50)
Jays ML -300 ($1.33)
Tigers ML +290 ($3.90)

your odds on that parlay should be no worse then $7.78 Meaning if ya bet 100 bucks you would get back $778.00 (profit of $678.00)

see if ya use the decimal format it's extremly easy to figure out.

to convert vegas format to decimal format do the following:

for a fav at -200:

300 divded by 200 =$1.50

for dog at +290:

just add 100.....it's that easy.....so +290 becomes $3.90

also not that a lot of books now offer decimal and vegas format, Olympic and Pinnacle to name a few :)

hope this helps...... :p

LMAO at this thread....GMAN next time pay attention to the question if you want to help....not what you "think" is the question

Ironlock do the above

BUT

lets say

-150 and -170 baseball parlay

take

(250/150) * (270/170) * (10/11) for your payout

.909090 is the fudge factor taken into account for your bookie's 12/5 payout (it is the additional juice taken)

example -110 and -110:
(210/110) * (210/110) = 3.64 (a payout of 26.4/10)

But your bookie pays 24/10.....so 24/26.4 = .9090 or 10/11

Hey Ironlock, if you have to ask how much a parlay pays, then maybe you should FIND ANOTHER HOBBY!!!!!!

THanks kickserv, kotys, and freeze for the responses. Well done.

Petite Penis...maybe you should learn to read, before trying to write. Where did I ask how much a parlay paid?
