Yale-5.5

Cornell can have a .500 season if they win their next three games.
Whoop-dee-doodle. As this one slips away, and the middling goal
slips away with it, the towel is likely to be tossed. They come
off a win last night against a depleted Brown team in which only
five Cornell players scored, and the four high-scorers all scored
more than their season averages. Nowhere to go but down, most
likely, as Yale ? at 8-3 in conference and 18-7 overall, can still
kid themselves about having a shot to win the Ivy League, but also
not kid themselves about having a fine chance for a 20-win season
and a minor tournament if they take care of business in this home
finale. As the conference leader in points per game (70), they pose
a big problem for a Cornell team that has to get out and guard a
versatile 6?10? Greg Mangano, and strong slasher Reggie Willhite,
who draw lots of harm after their hoops. Those guys are seniors
who figure to go out in style. An earlier loss at Cornell ? 85-84
in overtime ? adds revenge to the mix. A win there and Yale would
have been only one game behind Harvard right now. ?Let?s go kill
these SOBs who messed us up!? Jonathan Gray, the fourth option in
Cornell?s offense, went for 29 points in that game, a season high
by 11 points. So, guess who won?t be going off tonight?
