I dont understand this and cannot find any info on them. I saw that they have a new "Monster" freeroll system, but also some cash games appear as "Monster Jackpot Games."

Does anyone know what this is?

thanks in advance

Here is info on there website. Looks like you have to qualify by being among the top 1000 players in freeroll tournament. Anyway this explains it.

Check the FAQ's out it is all there.

Cash game qualifiers
Can I qualify for the weekly freeroll by playing on any Bad Beat Jackpot table?

Yes. By playing on our Monster Bad Beat jackpot tables, you have a chance of hitting the Bad Beat Jackpot as usual, and you will also have the chance of getting two entries to the Monster Weekly freeroll. Plus, if your table misses the jackpot while any other table of the same stakes, betting, and game type hits the jackpot, you will still win an entry to the Monster Weekly freeroll.

Will you take more money from the pot to increase the Monster prize pool?
PartyPoker.com will not take any more money from the pot. The $0.50 jackpot contribution will be divided to two parts. The first part will be added to the Monster Bad Beat Jackpot, and the second will be added to the Monster main prize pool. The percentage of the $0.50 added to the Monster prize pool will be published on PartyPoker.com. Note that PartyPoker.com reserves the rights to alter the way in which the $0.50 is divided between the two prize pools.

Will I earn the same amount of PCPs on NL/PL Monster Bad Beat Jackpot tables as on other NL/PL tables?
Yes. The points payout will remain the same.
Is PartyPoker.com charging me more for playing at the Monster Bad Beat Jackpot tables?
Not at all. In fact, PartyPoker.com is not even charging the usual 10% administrative fee on any Monster Bad Beat Jackpot. These means that the two prize pools you?re playing for (the Bad Beat Jackpot and Monster prize pools) are even bigger than before.

Are there any Bad Beat Jackpot tables not associated with the Monster promotion?
No, all of the Bad Beat Jackpot tables are associated with the Monster promotion as this point of time.

I would give them a call if you still have questions, I am sure they can help you out.

On a side note they still have private tables, we could set up a weekly madjack one for a few bucks if people are interested.

its a big scam to raise the rake.

party should be ashamed of themselves. they are going to lose all their high volume players. they are going to lose a lot of business.

its just a hidden scam to raise the rake on every table.

if you play low limits party is virtually unbeatable now. taking 50 cents extra on every pot can't be overcome. especially if you are a low roller.

a lot of people just got demotions today.

sad day.

goodbye party.

pay a chitload more in rake.

hope someone at your table takes a bad beat.

play in some dumb monthly tournament with 5000 other players and hope you are lucky enough to get in the top 100.

then play in a tournament in a year and hope you get lucky.

they basically said f.u. to non tournament players and cash game players.

raise the rake and make them play a stupid free roll

moronic site.

This is terrible for higher dollar players and people who play 40K hands a month.

However, for lower limit it will still suck but again they don't play to strike for gold and mortgage payments. They will love this idea, even if they are unaware of the terrible -EV (expected value they get in every pot). The exact mentality that PP wants to have, attract more casual players to fill up the tables.

There is a positive expected value effect of playing at a table with a huge bad beat jackpot that counteracts the additional rake for limit players, but that edge is far less if it even exists for NL players because there are way less hands that ever make it to a showdown. The less hands you have at a showdown the less chance you'll ever have of meeting that jackpot's requirements. So even if there is a positive EV effect on things, the variance involved is quite large and I'd hate to even think about what kind of hand sample size you would have to achieve in order to actually be able to see it play out.

where did i ever say its going to hurt party. they are going to lose a ton of high volume players which they never cared about anyway. they are making up for it in the rake so its no skin off their back. if anything its going to help stars and sites like full tilt.

it certainly won't affect them adversely because theres too many stupid people that will still play there.

and even though it won't affect them, they are going to lose about 5,000 full time players in the next month. players that continue to play thousands of hands daily. even break even players are now turned into losers.

of course it will effect you. all the people you want in your game (fish and guys like agent) will be out chasing a jackpot and your games will get worse. and the people you want in your game will go broke sooner because when they do win they win less.

its a lose/lose situation for the players.

but the jackpot is only in these monster games isnt it? Regular cash games without all this BS dont exist anymore? I dont believe the monster tables even occur @ lower than .50/$1.
