I'm no Hockey handicapper, but I'm trying to learn. Question: How much does past success play into hockey capping? Pittsburgh has owned NJ of late. Where do you draw the line between NJ wants revenge and NJ is mentally screwed up by seeing Penguin uniforms? I'm assuming it's not just a matchup problem for NJ....is that true? At +200 is it worth it to go with this trend and take Pittsburgh? If there's an obvious overlook here i'd appreciate hearing what it is. I'd like to be able to help you all someday. Thanks.

i think past success works to a certain degree, but I got burned on that one when i laid about 4 units down on detroit a week or so back, when Detroit was undefeated against vancouver in about 18 games in a row...
Vancouver went out and beat them 3-0.
go figure.

here's an interesting stat:

NJ has probs playing against teams in their own div this year, 1-4-2-1 (ATLANTIC) and 11-10-4-2 vs the EAST.

PITTS is 3-2-1-0 against their own div.
and pitts is 13-8-5-1 against the east.

being the first game back, i'd be hesitant to play any sides today though..

just my thoughts.
