It doesn't matter!!!!!!!!!!!! Fact: Paterno lied about having knowledge of the 1998 abuse. Fact: Paterno told his superiors not to report the abuse when he did admit to being told.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT ELSE IS UNKNOWN.

Someone can be the greatest person alive but if they do something heinous (as Paterno did) it overshadows everything.

Boo fucking hoo. Paterno should have thought of that. The most sobering thing is to know all of this was brought on by the man taking the 2nd most heat.

All Paterno had to do was inform authorities when he was told. None of this happens.

Say it Saint..... "and if it was YOUR kids.....blah blah blah"
What about our PA governor and every fucking one else that KNEW!
I never said that Paterno should be pardoned from all of this...what PISSED ME OFF was he was the headlines in every media outlet from the day the news broke. There are MANY big names that should have been brought into this mess instead of laying it all on Joe Paterno.

Paterno wanted to be the head man, the face of Penn St, now he gets it. Can you imagine what a circus this would be if he was still alive?

It is 2002 and Paterno and McQueary walking down the hall and Sandusky walks by them with a little kid. What now is going thru their minds? I couldn't live with myself if i saw that site and enabled that animal. Did the two of them just call it a day and have a nice sleep that night? Were they thinking what was gonna happen to that boy on this particular day? How the hell does this keep going on? Sandusky had something on Paterno. Has to be. Always new that crook Paterno was a big point shaver the way he called games, was this what Sandusky threaten him with?

But he was the one who had all the power to stop it. What the hell else was he hiding? About four or five years ago ESPN did a special about Penn State and all the crime coverups on campus and Joe was acting like ESPN was making it all up. Joe was getting a little to cocky with the guys doing the story. And here we have this fuk hiding all this shit while denying all this other shit to the ESPN reporters. Anyone remember this?

It's because he puffed up his chest as the bastion of morality for decades. That's why he's getting this reaction. It's unbelievably ironic.

On the course!
Do you remember the first Naked Gun movie? Did you see it, specifically the part where Leslie Nielsen sang the National Anthem? How did you feel about that particular part? Now tell me how you feel about when Roseanne Barr sang the National Anthem in the same week as that movie was released? My guess, provided you are even honest with yourself, is that they are very different feelings about the exact same thing. Why? Public outcry that's why.

Hope that helps,
FDC

Actually, I don't think they were the exact same thing, and I seriously doubt you do, either.

One was a movie, and one actually happened.

Denial 'aint a river in Egypt.

Their diatribes like the above just show that they too lack any ability to put emotion and bias aside and look at cold hard facts. They need to STFU, go lick their wounds as a family and stop making themselves look more ridiculous than they already have.

And the million dollar question?

Why does almost every single person who doesn't have a PSU affiliation feel one way, and PSU fans/grads feel another?

FIX!

Wow Saint, this post really really surprises me coming from you, I didn't expect you to be that blinded by hatred to be honest.

'ATTENTION- I AM NOT A PENN STATE ALUMNUS NOR A FAN. THE FUCKING THING COULD SINK INTO THE OCEAN ALONG WITH THE NCAA AND I WOULD NOT SKIP A BEAT. FUCK PENN STATE AND COLLEGE FOOTBALL SO QUIT SAYING I THINK DIFFERENT BECAUSE I AM AN ALUM

Also. You haven't seen a single e-mail, taken a single statement, spoken to a victim, asked to contribute to the investigation in any of this so you have no idea what is true or false except what you saw on tv and if you think everything hear on the news is true then we have nothing left to discuss other than how fun lincoln logs are.

Also, just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they are wrong and you are right.
You have no idea how Joe Paterno feels about anything including chocolate sundaes unless you were told by someone else because you don't know him. Your assumptions are NOT FACT. Yes I think that a complete investigation includes questioning EVERYONE EVEN REMOTELY INVOLVED.

PaSprint and Kickserv are right. You guys insist because you feel a certain way that it is the only correct way and if you were so fucking right Saint you would have made the fucking announcement about the sanctions five months ago.

Try to stick to facts and leave the "I'm the biggest sympathizer ever for those poor raped boys that I totally could care less about after I am done making my point shit" back in the closet because I don't buy it for a minute. I feel bad for what happened to them as much as you if not more because I actually consider their well being outside of using the tragedy to get the football program canceled. Because lets be honest, that is all you have cared about since the beginning. First is was soooo important for you to tie the crime to the football program, now it is soooo important that the program be killed and even go so far as to hope that Paterno's family is publicly humiliated even further. Do you honestly think your complete disdain for everything Paterno isn't completely evident? Why should his family not protect their name and Father? Please inform me now what makes that soooooo bad in your world dude? Really, I want to hear your line on why they should just continue to be humiliated and not absolutely RUN to the defense of their family name, are you fucking kidding me? Now they aren't even allowed to state the facts as they know them, and they do know them a hell of a lot better than you do bud, without you saying to take their punishment. What the fuck did they do? You now believe that justice should extend to family members now, okay, wow. All that and no mention of the real victims other than to point out that there were raped boys involved and you can't even say how many for sure. What bullshit. I like you Saint, I really do and you can be as mad at me as you want but you are wrong the way you are going about this. If you want to speak intelligently on it then do so and leave the holier than thou bullshit out of it because I don't buy it for a fucking minute. And make sure you remember your statement about how the NCAA has no responsibility to investigate charges to the fullest and can just hand out punishments without gathering all pertinent info. Maybe someday your hero or alma mater may be in the crosshairs and that little, blinded by hate statement will come back to haunt you. Just saying. I don't want you to get pissy about this either but if you re-read that post of yours, one can plainly see the bias in your print and I am done with the argument. You think because you got your sanctions that you are somehow correct and you were never even asked your input.
You simply got what you wanted, justify your disregard for the victims all you want dude. I'm out.

azbob,
You haven't been the first to speak out about anything in the eleven years I have been here except to agree with what someone else said. So I will tell you again, you are correct I didn't know who Mark Emmert was BECAUSE I DIDN'T CARE THEN OR NOW. HE MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO ME. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT NOW? YOU CAN KEEP POINTING OUT THAT I DIDN'T KNOW WHO HE WAS AND YOU ARE STILL JUST STATING AN OPINION, IT DOESN'T CHANGE A DAMN THING.
How many times do I have to tell you I don't and never did like or support Joe fucking Paterno, I believe in due process you idiot. What part of that do I need to repeat again or draw out in crayons for you to understand. Did your beloved Sun Devils get a couple new wins now that they stripped Paterno of his, like that helps the victims. Yes, your concern for the victims is so evident............not............it is about as evident as your ability to comprehend a statement.

The first to call out the NCAA, shit, you probably had to look it up to spell it right. Your disregard for doing what is best for the real victims is only superseded by you lack of reading comprehension.
All you wanted was to hurt Penn State. You are a straight up liar if you try to say the victims are the first thing on your mind. You haven't mentioned them once. Sell your bullshit to someone else that couldn't give two shits about the victims.

Kickserv,
I just don't think it is necessary to keep calling him out is all. We can all find a point someone has made before that is hindsight wasn't the best. I don't have the desire or time to do it, otherwise I would be looking for all of azbob's first responder quotes. There aren't any but I would look if I cared in the least bit about Joe Paterno or Penn State. The only reason I ever said a word was to defend the personal attack on PaSprint and Marine.

Hope that helps,
FDC

Actually, I don't think they were the exact same thing, and I seriously doubt you do, either.

One was a movie, and one actually happened.

My point is that the public outcry for Roseanne Barr's head was due in large part to her already damaged public persona. I will also say that while one was in a movie and the other wasn't they were both delivered on the same platform. One was a comic with absolutely zero singing voice hired to sing the National Anthem the other was the same only in a movie. The song is still the National Anthem and I was completely offended by both of them. Where or how it was done does not change the act. If you make a mockery of the National Anthem and display it on TV, what is the difference? Intent? Delivery? or more so how the public perceived each of their individual actions and since it was all the rave to pile on Roseanne most of the mindless did just that. Leslie Nielsen was praised for his performance. I was disgusted.
I am not saying I am correct and I understand that not all people see it like I do but it is pretty hard to defend that one person's intent was different thereby excusing the act.

point shaving=speculation
pounded his moral chest for decades=so he made himself out to be a bit more than he really was. Wow thank God neither you or anyone else ever ever ever ever ever ever ever is guilty of that, we should kill those fuckers now huh. Because you know...........it causes child molestation and gives us, the moral majority when we choose to be to make sure he and his surviving family are vilified for the rest of their miserable fucking lives. Fucking loser scumbags how dare they get born to a Father that bragged about how great he was.

I'm curious, when you saw them pass each other in the hall, you know Sandusky and Paterno. oh.........you didn't.......so some more speculation.

I am curious as to when all this great speculation becomes fact to azbob and the rest? you know.........so I can be ready for the moral chest pounding fake ass bullshit again.

You don't think in all those years Joe or McQueary ever saw Sandusky with a child after the incident? Didn't he have some kind of foundation with kids? I think in all those years they had to to see Sandusky at least once. I could be wrong but out of 100 percent i think im a lot closer to 100 than 0

I wonder if the reason Joe wouldn't retire was because he was afraid his successor might find out what was going on/being covered up??

he wanted that record and itis that simple. I know they took away a lot of his wins to give him a nice fuking. I heard they left the loses

Yea I think he saw him with kids but if I was truly going to speculate I would guess that Sandusky had convinced him that the shower incident was not what he thought it was and Paterno let it go.

Before I get neutered I am not saying I condone it.

I don't think any normal human being would just let that shit go so I am guessing that he believed his scumbag friend.

That is the only way that it makes any sense to me, but I don't know for sure so I just won't speculate. The guy is dead, I have no interest in running his family down for personal reasons or because I went to a different school or because I thought joepa was an ass or any of that. I have no actual feeling whatsoever on the subject because I simply don't know.

The Paterno story reminds me a lot of Rush Limbaugh, only the Paterno story was much, much worse.
