Finals MVP Paul Pierce, who recently spent three days at a ball camp in Madrid, is making, ahem, news about what he said to a Spanish reporter. The money translation, via RedsArmy: "Q: Is Kobe really the best player in the world? Pierce: I don't think Kobe is the best player. I'm the best player. There's a line that separates having confidence and being conceited. I don't cross that line but I have a lot of confidence in myself." Surprisingly, Spurs fans seem more upset by this than actual Lakers fans. (Update: OK, Lakers Nation is pretty upset, too.)

Regarding Pierce he is clearly not the top player in the world.
He is not a top 5 player, maybe not eve n top 10

Someone who plays on a losing team for most of his career and averages over 20pts game,can rebound and give you some assists is a top ten player in my book.

Well Nash,Dirk,and Wade are debatable,plus every player stated plays a different role.
Stating that playing on a losing team makes a complete player is off base.
Thats just for starters.
One more thing.Ill throw this out there.
James might not be better than Pierce,no?
He outplayed him in key game(I believe 7).
Not to mention that one has a championship,and one has not.:shrug:
