I've seen some threads about people here losing their jobs.

Has anyone's employers given paycuts?

Just got called into the CEO's office and told there is going to be a "temporary" company-wide 10% pay cut.

I guess I have to be happy I'm not laid off?

GM did paycuts accross the board a few month's back

5% for hourly,
7% for white collar average pion
10% for leadership

My company, starting in mid March had 5% paycut for average employee. They then came back a month later and took away another 10% for one month.

So, in all, we took a 5% overall paycut and for the month of April we took a 14.5% paycut (10% off of the already deducted 5% = 14.5%)

Above the Clouds....
Wife is a teacher and the union urged them to work a day with no pay to help keep the school tax increase under 5%.

Only 3 people voted no.

There's a lot of companies doing this. If they took care of you during the last couple of years then it shouldn't be taken as a cut, but if they didn't . . . I'd immediately start looking.

Wife took a 5% paycut. Company also cut out 401k match and tuition reimbersment (felt the pinch on that one. So we just made some cutbacks at home and pay for her schooling ourselves)

No complaints here though because she still has a job to go to every morning.

Seems to be the trend, just got a cousin who was let go last Friday, jeld the news from family until Monday due to daughter's wedding. Very sad timing, but he had (as the entire company did as well) to accept a 20% decrease in January this year.

I have a neighbor as well, that although they have not done decreases in base salary, they have been foreced to take a week of unpaid time off, which apparently will is now going to be required one week each quarter.

$100,000 a year job... That shows up to be around a 10% decrease to me. $7692 for the quarterly time off, and then you add in the one already instituted... $9615. But on the bright side, he is still employed! I would have taken that option if it was presented! I am still hitting pavement, and looking at it has been a bit trying and difficult.

last year at my job, the max raise we could get was 3% from the usual max of 4%. This year, we can get the 4% again, so I'm thankful, but that doesn't mean they can't come by tomorrow and cut my pay. I lost 55 hours of vacation time several years back when the company I work for was bought out, and that royally sucked. Hopefully healthcare can make it through this crisis.

our company is thinking about paycuts, although our company has been bought out so I may lose my job once that's completed in a couple of weeks. I'll take a paycut if they ask.
