I guess I'm not seeing the exact quote that you reference. Even the way it is presented it is obviously in some context, and does not show an exact quote. Maybe if you can come up with that, it might make some difference. Until then, it's a non-issue, really. It sounds like an off-handed comment, and was done at some "woman's tea", and how many quotes like this have come from the current administration and other politicians in more private gatherings of ardent supporters? Man, you guys are really scrapping for garbage, aren't you?
I'm not one for self indulgence, but a couple of things come to mind here. First, it is a tremedous accomplishment, and historical, and what she says is true. How many times have we seen conservatives (for the most part) and even some liberals say that a woman can never be President? I'm sure a woman as Speaker of the House was a laughable thing a few years ago.
Second, if she isn't the most powerful woman in America, then who is? I'm sure there are a few business leaders that are pretty important, and a queen is a big deal, but in this country, a female speaker of the house has to be in the top couple, doesn't it?
Heck, George is the Decider, so he says...isn't that enough for you Neocons?
Again, until I see an exact quote that is not paraphrased by a second tier newspaper in its own market, I'll reserve judgement. This publication has been around only since 1982, and is not on the Top 200 newspapers in the country...and I don't know how much farther down the list they hit. They certainly don't talk about their circulation numbers on their Web site.
Keep trying to make a story, conservatives. I know that losing ultimate power has to sting a little.
