5&6 year old championship game tonight under the lights. Bad guys(better team) won 26-13. A few parents started in on the refs and one got into the coaches face. Coach stays very patient until he starts poking him in the chest. Coach who is six inches taller and eighty pounds heavier has had enough at this point and is about to thrash the guy. Luckily for the coach (good guy that we would hate to see taken to jail) me and a couple of other dads were close enough to keep him from hurting the guy. The whole time a team full of 5 & 6 year old boys are being subjected to this. Police called and yet another embarrassing episode in little league sports is in the books:facepalm:

Yep, it's disgusting how many parents try to live vicariously through their children, never mind how inappropriate it is to act that way in front of them. Pathetic.

In my neck of the woods, if a parent talks to a ref, they are subject to immediate removal from the park.

Last week a u7 soccer game was called midway through the second half because a mom kept harassing the opposing coach and referee. She didn't use profanity or say anything ugly, but kept repeating that calls were all going one way. Ref tossed her his whistle and said you win, game over.

sounds crazy, I can't wait for my son to be 6 and playing sports, only 2.5 years left...

why not let them work it out themselves? calling the cops, was that really necessary? just curious...I played sports from 5 til 18 and nobody ever called the cops for unruly parents :shrug:

christ you texans are creative, what is soccer baseball? Or is there a misplaced comma and you listed baseball twice, meaning you were so badass you played it twice a year?

I think while the athletes in his high school played baseball, he was sitting behind the bench tapping a soccer ball around.
