So, if Oregon won you would be fine with the BCS? Your upset because Alabama lost to Auburn no other reason again get a life

The anti-sec sentiment nationally is common throughout sports, both amateur and pro. Sec gets hyped, you guys get bothered by it. It is only natural when a conference or team has won 5 consecutive titles. Were the big ten at the top of the heap and had won the bcs title game the past 5 yrs, then I would probably feel the same way as u guys do now.

Btw, I did not read the original post....

Jack: We don't have a problem admitting that the SEC is the best conference. Read the ridiculous shit posted at the start of this thread. That's what drives everyone nuts. Read it.

I dont think anyone can deny that the SEC is the best conference its the comment that Oregon or whoever else is a fraud and doesnt deserve to be on the same field. I mean this is a tie game with 2:00 minutes to go and Oregon is a Fraud?

Glad you put the last sentence in. The original poster is getting bashed because it is the same old song and dance with an SEC homer sucking other SEC teams' dicks. It's a great conference, good enough to go 5-5 in bowl games, which is better than some, not as good as others. Never seen so many fans of schools talk up their rivals and teams that they recruit against. Seems they should be doing the opposite. Just wondering though, how is the SEC the best conference? Not saying they are not, but when they rarely play anybody any good out of conference and go .500 in the bowls, how does that make them hands down better. Yes, they won 5 straight BCS championships, but that is one game, after a long layoff, and half of the time has been in a home field atmosphere (ie. Sugar with LSU, Orange with Florida). BTW, thought that was a good close game last night, just a few plays made the difference. Congrats Auburn fans. :toast:

you're right. Should have been TCU vs Stanford.

How could Stanford even be in the discussion when they lost by over 20 points to Oregon....If it was a close game then maybe they could be in the conversation, but it wasn't....

Imo Bama is the best team in the nation but they also couldn't play for the championship so it had to be either Auburn, Oregon or TCU....But I, myself favor a playoff system....

I think the sec was lucky to go 5 - 5 in bowl games. On New years Florida got lucky with a late interception, Michigan was playing with a lame duck coach and Mich St did'nt want to be there because they wanted the Rose Bowl. The sec could have easily gone 2-8 or 1-9 if Oregon played better.

5-5 means 10 of the 12 schools in the SEC went to a bowl game. Should Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, or Florida have actually played post season?...maybe not, but they have to fill slots for all of these damn games, and, truth be told, SEC fans travel well.

Now, in regards to Michigan St not wanting to be in a bowl game where they get the opportunity to play Alabama and Michigan playing with a lame duck coach, sounds like excuses as to why the Big 10 got dominated on New Year's Day. If we want to speculate, Arkansas SHOULD have beaten the all mighty Buckeyes had their receivers been able to catch a cold. We can debate this all day but the point is the SEC has won the last 5 BCS Championships. Until there is a playoff, we will continue to debate these issues...and SEC teams will continue to win BCS National Championships.

A Bama fan saying "didn't want to be there sounds like an excuse" is very funny to me. Utah 31 Bama 17. :142smilie

Lots of good stuff in this thread. LOTS of what ifs all around.

I just know 2 things:

#1 - Oregon and their fans are PATHETIC. Not because they are unclassy, they were actually very nice and took the loss very well. They are pathetic because in scottsdale at the pep rallies / team parties, in glendale around the stadium, and in the stadium, I probably heard Oregon Fans tell me "Roll Tide" at least 300 times. And another 500 times they said "Roll Ducks"

What the F is wrong with those people... it just didn't make sense to me. There were even 4 Mark Ingram jerseys I saw at the Tostitos tailgate party before the game. That is MF-ing Sick and pathetic.

#2 - We are the champs. What ifs don't matter and "Oregon almost won" is the funniest thing I've read in a while.

One thing I thought was hilarious was that in the weeks before the game all the Oregon backers talked about how tired the AU defense would be. Midway thru the 2nd quarter when AU was driving an Oregon player was running off the field after a play and the UO coaches waived him to go back on the field and Lay Down. He turns around runs back to the huddle and sits down. Chip Kelly you're pathetic. UO. Roll Tide.

I'm actually a Bama alum, and I'm glad you are amused, but it doesn't change the vailidity of my argument.

Congrats on a huge Sun Bowl victory. In what decade do you see Notre Dame being relevant again in college football? The 2020's or 2030's?

:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Let me know what you mean by relevant and I'll let you know

How long do you think until we're at the next stop on the Bama cycle?
